The Loop section is very good, is there a way to save the wav with the loop points only and/or with a small envelope without any clicks? If yes, phalanx would be the ultimate loop machine for making new stuff...

Maybe. I'm not entirely convinced yet. I reckon Geist is the ultimate drum/loop-machine, so I think I'll need to demo this before making any decision on it.

Would be good to know if the library can be used externally of Phalanx? Are they wav-files?

I'm sure it's a Phalanx format...!

But, i like the possibilities here, i can layer very fast and easier as in Kontakt, with a bunch of good effects, so far i can see in the demos, that's cool...! Kontakt is the sampler in the business but it's not easy to work with it, the workflow isn't bad in my eyes...

Yea, you're quite right. It's all about the workflow. And that's why I think I need to have this in my hands to get a proper feel for it. I actually bought Halion because I felt it would fit my workflow in Cubase, dragging and dropping samples all over the place, but I dont get to use it as much as I'd like, because it lacks some really basic tools, like support for chopped audio-files, and no forward-backward looping.

Geist can do a lot of things Phalanx can't, like sequencing and on the fly sampling. You can load up to 8 different samples per pad and have several option to mix or alternate them. Geist is the best drum sampler to me as well.

Yet I'm quite interested in Phalanx because it can do several things Geist can't and because of the superior workflow. The flexible envelopes and modulation options are simply great. Adjusting and automating the loop region markers is like an Akai S612 on steroids. The scratching function is fun and so on.
The browser seems more practical to use than Geist's small area browser.

So ... uhm, Phalanx is probably just another boring one-shot sample player. Nothing special at all really.

199 euro for the normal version, 249 for the expanded version (not sure what this is but probably contains the two expansion sets that have been anounced, exp fx and exp dubstep)

price will be 199€ for the basic version (3000 sounds&samples) and 249€ for the premium version (6000 sounds&samples). Plugin itself is identical in both versions, only the content differs.
You can later upgrade to the Premium version of course

is there any special loyalty pricing of some sort for people with a bunch of your other plug-ins.. like metrum, nexus, mbc, etc..

Yes it will be sold through refx
and the rest of the plugins will move there, too

I have been told, its technically not possible at the moment, to give discounts to customers who own all previous plugins. But no worries, we will find a loyalty gift in the near future for them (a special free XP or even a mini plugin, which only works when having all licenses etc...)
