Presets by Track?

Looking at the videos, reading the manuals and 'playing around,' it appears that presets are global across all four tracks.
Please someone tell me I am missing something!
I want to be able to pull up my own saved bass preset for one track, a lead for another, etc.
It seems that when I select a preset if I have selected either tracks 2, 3 or 4, it flips back to track 1.
This seems a great limitation as you then can't 'mix and match' your presets for different types of voices/ instruments.

as far as i know presets are global. do i detect a little buyer's remorse? what you want sounds nice but that is most likely for a future version of Cream. still this plug is way useful though as it is!

Thanks.
No, no remorse at buying ... just a little disappointment at current stage of development.
It really is a serious limitation though, since effectively if designing your own preset collection tracks 2-4 are pretty useless as you can only load one preset per instance.
I haven't given copying between instances a whirl yet, but that may be a possible work around.

I think would be a great idea.
As for your workaround, I don't know if you can copypaste between instances otherwise you can save the preset and load it in the other instance I guess.

Yep ... tried it hosted in Chainer with two instances and it wouldn't copy between them.
Something funny, though. Open a fresh instance> right click on highlighted/ active '1' in the pattern box and it shows 'Paste' as an option.
How could there be anything to paste in a fresh instance if you haven't copied anything from the GUI?
Nothing seems to paste, but I believe 'Paste' should display as greyed out, not as an active option.

Sounds like a bug indeed. Did you try save as a preset and load it in the other instance and modify it from there? I suppose you can copy/paste without issue inside the same VST instance? so while being cumbersome I guess it's possible to do it that way if one want to?como baila wrote:Yep ... tried it hosted in Chainer with two instances and it wouldn't copy between them.

Yes, I closed the host and started from scratch: it still showed 'Paste' as an active option.
BTW, I didn't try to copy a preset between instances ... I just tried to copy a pattern.
Nice to find someone actively interested in this intriguing little midi vsti!

Hey, como baila. I believe that presets store all 4 tracks even if all 4 aren't used. For example, a preset may only have information on track 1 and the other 3 tracks are blank. When that preset is loaded, the other tracks are cleared.
I think you will have to enter the other 3 tracks by hand. I don't think copy/paste will work.
See this topic where I use all 4 tracks for a piano/keys preset:

@chardin ... I'm pretty sure that you are right ... that you can save a preset that has info on all 4 tracks.
But that's not really the point. Say you make a song with a nice baseline and later want to adapt it to another song. You cannot mix and match the track 2 info from one preset with the track 3 info from a different preset.
And since you cannot copy/ paste between instances as far as I can tell, you cannot do any work around ... you're stuck with being able to use only the info from one track and redoing everything else.
OK you could record the midi data sequentially or load 4 different instances of Cream and use one track from each ... but then what's the point of having 4 tracks?
I noted that in the 'basic' video that all the music was on track 1. even though it shows the other tracks, they aren't used in that video.
I'm still having issues with using more than one track in Cubase ... so I will be eager to review your link. Thanks!
