It's simply because a Google of "FS: x synth" will return this thread instead of the actual vendor. Thus potential lost sales.

It has nothing to do with image.

It's actually a very good idea.

yes after that all people simply ruins the sale (even someone telling that he will never buy this product from such a company ... hum), a friendly bump was the minimum. Happilly a modo has clearly stated that it was incorrect (it clearly was) in this thread.

Concerning the company comments, on my side I dont feel it important and each people can have their own opinion.
Often there is some pro and cons. On one side I dont think it is fair to request the company name hidden; on the other side that's outstanding plugins at fair price (like ohmboyz), and with a non intrusive protection (tomorrow if NI or waves are facing financial troubles, imagine the problem for your plugins. Here it is OK).
