Agreed, something dodgy going on, however it's way above my head

I tried it with buffer settings of 512 and 128 and there is a very short gap at the beginning, about 300ms but other than that it renders correctly. I've not really used it before so don't know if this is a bug with S1 but i'm gonna try a few other plugins in a bit...

For me the gap is much longer. This is definitely a bug in synth squad.

BUT on the fxpansion forum they gave me the right advice to send the midi to a new audiotrack and this works ("record it in realtime, make a new audio track, input is the midi track's output.")

Too bad i can't somehow answer there, although i am logged in i can not post in my own thread, lol.

Phil

PS: Totally strange FX Clock work did not sound like an arp at all today. But when i recorded it with the aforementioned method it sounded like the arp i had recorded the last days. Synth Squad seems really buggy lately.
Finally!

Yeah i tried with a Geist scene and it rendered the audio perfectly. Did you update to 1.1.0.29 or is that a beta?

Edit: I've tried a few patches, arps and pads and they've all bounced consistently, just that gap at the beginning but Geist is sample accurate if thats the right term. Defo a bug but i wonder if Fx have fixed something in the .29 beta...

musikmachine wrote:Great patches, already got a track going. :) But some are one note cpu killers! I had to set Os to 1x but it's worth it. I've held off buying soundbanks cause of the cpu hit but no regrets buying this, these are stellar sounds. 8)
Instead of reducing to 1x, which IMHO kills Synth Squad's character, drill down into the synths and reduce the voice count to a lower multiple of the unison. Some of these patches are set to 24 voice with 4 unison, or 30 voice with 6 unison. For patches this thick I can get by fine with say 8 voices and 4 unison, for 2 notes overall.

Anyways these are gorgeous sounds. Just picked up this set last night. Very different from what anyone else has done with SS, and well worth it for the alternative sonic palette.

Yes advice. For big trance stuff you often need large polyphony for it to sound right, but if you don't need it lower the voice count or even the unison. Basically: what he said.

Thanks for the feedback also. So did you design those Reaktor instruments? I love them. The Frame2 is something you can just play and play and play it's so fascinating.

I meant to look into buying some of your Reaktor stuff too, looks really great.

Thanks again

The biggest culprit seems to be release on the amp env and the effects and i raised the buffer to 512 and much better now! :)

Yep, just to reiterate, great patches, really well thought out and useable.

I'll have to go through the patches and resave them with lowered settings. I'm thinking i might map a macro to the release parameter so i can quickly cut it is as sometimes opening the gui can overload the cpu and i can just control it within maschine which is great for that but not being multicore really limits what you can run, maybe one day....

Yes I feel I should apologies for the CPU on some of them but really that is how they have to be to sound the way they do. Good you like them so much though, really good to know.

Nah no need, i knew there would be a cost but so worth it. I need to upgrade my cpu but i'm waiting to see if maschine goes multicore as mine aint bad but trying to run projects on a single core with all the fx on sounds and groups pushes things a bit!

I find the way you used the sounds very interesting. And the way you've done the harmonies makes the track feel like it's constantly moving. Thanks for posting it.
