"Wall of Sound" was called the recording and mixing techniques of Phil Spector, and it had to do with the right recordings, very much reverb and layering techniques...

Today I would understand "Wall of Sound" as "Layering different sounds"...

that iam trying to get from you.. threshold -8 when -96db are silence and it come together.. 12 is divide between 96 and 8.... u got -12.. when we r thinking about dnb beat is punchy at 12 slowest, pardon fastest beat.... I don't know....

I think that compression would bring on the opposite of "wall of sound"

To me a "wall of sound" is a wall full of marshall's on 11!!!!
