I think if you use compression on samples that would bring up the noise floor making it possible to hear the difference.msvs wrote:making them 24bit would not change anything, but taking double size on your HD.
Some devs create "a bigger size" of their libraries with that "trick".
But it does absolutely NOTHING quality wise to the samples(there are plenty of 16bit vs 24bit conclusions on the web btw)

Get the latest version - v1.02 - problem solved.elipsis1 wrote:Anyone else who bought Phalanx, question...
I am using the Dubstep kit "Bank Mirko Dubstep1" also "Bank Mirko Dubstep2" in ableton Live 9.02 32 bit.
This is just a drumkit, but I get building CPU usage that never seems to go down, eventually it just becomes unuseable.
Re-loading will kill the cpu usage but that is not very appealing to me...
Can someone else verify this?
I'm using 1.01 version.

Hi Theo
then good news for you
on our EFX Bundle update list is:
- adding tempo sync to Flanger and Phaser
- adding new features to the Clip Distortion (DC Shifter, different Distortion Models etc...
- adding 2 band EQ to Impulse
- bugfixes
- some new presets (for example a wonderful new Impulse Response for Impulse: "Real World Rhine Valley"... I recorded last week. A loud impulse (the "end boom" of the yearly Rhine Firework festival) which gives you a long and dense real stereo world reverb of the Rhine Valley in Germany with its mountains and hills

I heard some people on laptops can't see the whole screen and were asking if there was a way for a future update to make it easier to see for smaller screens?
Anything on this?
Oh and thanks for the quick updates Manuel and Rene!
You guys definitely are on top of things!
This thing sounds GREAT!
Am I correct that there is no sequencer planned for Phalanx?
I could see some use for that in creating sequence patches, but if not, that is fine, this is still an awesome plugin!

Did you check some of the sound banks? Some of them have a 1 pattern synced loop using LFO's in a clever way to trigger various sounds. It's not a sequencer but my first reaction was "They didn't say anything of a sequencer in Phalanx!"elipsis1 wrote:Am I correct that there is no sequencer planned for Phalanx?

yes, here: http://www.vengeance-storage.com/Phalan ... erview.pdfhighkoo wrote:A couple questions-
Is there a list of samples?
yes, Phalanx need a minimum screen resolution of your computer of 1282x914I heard some people on laptops can't see the whole screen and were asking if there was a way for a future update to make it easier to see for smaller screens?
but we are planning an update with a zoom / scale button in the next couple of days, which let you resize the GUI... I hope the small fonts will be still readable in that size, but even if not, you have the big readout on the bottom. Main thing is, that it will fit on smaller screens, too then. But I still recommend a bigger display for making music than 13"
maybe we consider this in a future update, but a dedicated XP is planned to SQs, which you can do already by using Arp, LFO and ModEnvAm I correct that there is no sequencer planned for Phalanx?

How does it compare to battery?
I'm mainly asking about the sampler itself, not the samples-content.
I didn't read the whole thread, so I'm sorry if this has been asked before.
Cheers,
Doc
edit: nevermind, I just realized it's elicenser protected

The GUI resize will help me on my dell laptop a lot. Metrum just fits exactly. But with phalanx I can't even import the sounds.
Just spent some serious time with phalanx and I'm so impressed:)
You guys are the best, seriously... The updates are quick!
