Since all offer a similar set of features (Scarlett, audiobox, Kontrol6, etc) you may have to look ofr the one with the best drivers.

Agreed, but, something else to consider is bundled software. My Kontrol 1 came with a Native Instruments single synth that I was able to swap for ACE. That added real value to the NI interface over other brands. Don't just look at whether you need the software, but also whether it's the kind of thing that you can trade to others for something that has more value to you.rod_zero wrote:Since all offer a similar set of features (Scarlett, audiobox, Kontrol6, etc) you may have to look ofr the one with the best drivers.

I'm very happy with my Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. Should be less than $200. The driver has fortunately been rock solid. The newer model (Scarlett 2i2) is apparently going for about $150.

+1. I A/B'd it against the Apogee Duet iOS, Focusrite Forte, and Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, the UR22 came in 2nd place (behind the Duet iOS).GreenhouseMG wrote:Steinberg UR22 maybe?

If you can find a used one maybe check this out! If not it might be worth spending that extra $40.00 on.

Also vouching for the Saffire 6 USB. Solid as Iraq for all the time i've used it, and top notch preamps on it. But it does sap a lot of power from the USB hub. If it doesn't start up, it's because too many units are connected to that particular hub. Just try connecting it to another USB port, and problem solved.NAD wrote:I'm very happy with my Focusrite Saffire 6 USB. Should be less than $200. The driver has fortunately been rock solid. Scarlet should be the same in terms of usability and drivers, based on Focusrite's track record (and the same preamps).
