I was going to buy the istudio however, I then realised that I wouldn't be able to plug in my launchkey keyboard as its usb and there's no usb slot which would fit on the dock.
So I was thinking instead is there anything which exists whereby I can connect my launchkey and a scarlett 2i4 at the same time so I don't have to keep unplugging and unplugging stuff.
For example would this allow me to plug both in?

You're referring to the Behringer iStudio iS202? Being essentially a dock, it will occupy your 30-pin connector. Remember that for a minute.
Why a USB keyboard with an iPad? Aren't there enough wireless (e.g. bluetooth) alternatives?
What role would the Scarlett 2i4 interface have? You'd either get a CameraConnectionKit and plug in your own USB audio interface, or you'd buy something like the iStudio. Both is overkill.
Or maybe I didn't understand you completely, and you want to know weather a CKK of $10 plus your own interface would do the same as the iStudio. The answer to that is yes.
The first kit you linked to:
The second one is just a powered USB3 hub. Good to extend the number of ports if you have just one (like with a CKK that has just one USB port.) Warning though: no idea weather it's backwards compatible with USB2.

Well obviously MrKash007 didn't take the trouble to correct the non-native-English editorial text on the package. The photo shows an iPad connector on one side and 3 USB ports on the other side of the cable. For this amount you can take the risk, but will only help you if the 30-pin connector of the iPad is not already occupied.* The Camera connector features a USB port.
* 3 High Speed Ports of USB Hub for all USB devices connecting to iPad.
* Can Connect any large current USB devices such as camera, keyboard, mobile hard disk etc.
* Can also all USB device connected in iPad working at the same time.

the launchkey is a usb midi keyboard which doesn't have a midi out so its why I asked if I the usb powered hub would allow me to plug in an audio interface - to get audio out and my keyboard at the same time.
Otherwise can I ask what is the best way to get audio out then, so far using the headphone out but is that the best method?.

OK, thanks for clarifying it's a midi keyboard. That I didn't understandmonsterism wrote:the launchkey is a usb midi keyboard which doesn't have a midi out so its why I asked if I the usb powered hub would allow me to plug in an audio interface - to get audio out and my keyboard at the same time.
The underlying question here is weather the iPad knows what to do with a USB class-compliant midi keyboard. I think I read it does work with audio interfaces, but midi keyboards I don't know. Google "iPad CCK midi keyboard" for answers. Non class-compliant devices I would not bet on it, but you never know until you try
Headphone out obviously works (Good enough for Rock'nRoll as they say) but what is "best" depends on your needs and quality expectations. Google for "iPad RMAA results" and you'll see some scientifical test bench reports that show it's not too bad actually.monsterism wrote:Otherwise can I ask what is the best way to get audio out then, so far using the headphone out but is that the best method?
