OK, disregard the above from me. Finally got serial. Not quite sure what I did any differently!

Yeah, the homepage isn't that clear with you being logged in...

My process:

1. Went to drummica homepage, parsed german, submitted info
2. Got email, clicked on the link.
3. Entered info in login popup (which just disappeared)
4. Got page with download link
5. Download (w8 for 1.5 hrs)
6. Unzipped, ran installer, installer ran native service center, then installer wanted xxxx auth code for the new library
7. Revisited sennheiser homepage, reentered login info, clicked on profile in the (top) menu bar
8. Got page and clicked on get code/license, got the xxxx numbers and pasted into installer
9. played with drums in kontakt

firefox, w7, 64bits and komplete ultimate. Had a bit of trouble with the page on chrome (on android) so might be better to use another browser for that.

I thought the same but actually was logged in all the time.
I did miss the "profile" entry in the grey menu band (man that site has GUI issues ;-) ).
But there it was...

Good luck!

Oops---still more problems, I spoke too soon!! When I click on the main installer, it gives me a message saying that I need to install it through a DVD! I would be pulling out my hair at this point, but for the fact I have little left.

Post

So...any opinions on the quality/usability of the drums? Do they overlap with anything else or have any unique features that put them in their own niche?

You have to unpack all files from the archive then run the installer. Unpacking just the installer won't work. Sorry if you already knew that. :D

I've (now twice with different e-mails), clicked on the original link, filled out the survey, and then been told that an e-mail will shortly be sent that I have to confirm and will give me my own authorization code. I then get the e-mail (entirely in German) and click on the one link in that e-mail. That sends me to the site and I click on the log-in screen, which looks like it's in a kind of pop up form. I fill in my e-mail and password and hit submit. The information then vanishes from the log in screen, without logging me in!! This has happened multiple times on Explorer 9, Chrome and Firefox on my Windows 7 64 bit system. Any ideas??
What I did.

Registered.
Got a confirmation email link to site.
Logged on to my account.
Went to support/serial.
Pressed serial and serial number auto poulated.
Copied serial and entered into NI Service center as well as making a copy for myself.

Did not receive email validation for serial at all.

I had that issue when I tried to run the installer from inside the zip file. After extracting everything in the zip file installation went fine. Now I just can't seem to login and confirm my account.

File was entirely unzipped with 7-zip before I got this "original Dvd" message. Will try to re-download. Aaaaarrrrggghhh!

"log-in" does not initiate for some reason - just comes up defaulting to a blank password each time, despite me entering registration specifics. Ah well, no worries, thanks for info - hope it's fun drums!
The login button should trigger a popup login form that just has a place to put your email and password. Is it possible you have something blocking the popup? It's a modal popup.

Maybe try a different browser?

Brent
I get to the login screen, enter my information, it goes blank and stays that way.....tried on 3 different browsers!

Did this too. Registration wasn't working yesterday, but it is today. I got the serial number as described above, but now my only obstacle is that NI insists I run Windows 7 to get updates of Kontakt and even to install this library, even though I have a full version of Kontakt. Goodbye Vista :)

ThomasHelzle wrote:What mapping did you use with Jamstix?

Cheers,

Tom
Well, you can choose your preferred mapping in one of the tabs in K5 for this Library ( choose from a variety - GM, EZDrummer, Superior, BFD etc) and, likewise in Jamstix: when you load a kit, check MIDI ONLY and then choose a kit from the list - if you pick a BFD kit (near the top) you will get the BFD mapping applied and so on for the other options. I used BFD in each case with no apparent problems.

The recording quality of the kick, snare, toms and hi hats is very good, specifically:
Kick: E 901 and E 902
Snare: KM 184
Toms: E 904
Hi hat: KM 184 and MKH 8040

That's referring to the dry samples. All other samples are useless to me, including the ones recorded with overheads (ride, crash, etc.). Too much ambiance and no dry version for them. I don't mind, though, since I can use the Zildjian Digital Vault cymbals anyway (the only good extensive cymbal sample libraries available)

The arrangement, sample selection, versatility, is very good.
Recommended? Sure. It's better than the vast majority of commercial drum sample libraries.
As far as "overlapping?", well, it's drums.
