oh nice i also bought that Screen Flow 4 at the app store this is cool to record Logic videos and sound stuff. I'm happy here so far. Looks like LPX is geared nicely for retina like mine. Cool stuff.

guys is it possible now to send midi from one audio unit to a other? for example using a reaktor sequencer on es2

Apparently not. That is down to the AU spec not supporting that (much missed) feature. So, not a Logic thing per se.

Ha! This just made me feel a whole lot better than I already did about buying cubase 6.5 a month or so back.
And I'm also glad I hung on to S1, since I intend to use cubase on my home pc when I get one (very soon, since LPX just made my choice of mac vs. pc easy) and continue to use S1 for tracking and mixing in the studio mac. I hope mac performance improves with S1 v3. If not, then I might change to PT11 or reaper for the studio.

I call bullshit on those claiming that they are no significant improvements under the hood and to the engine. And that this is just Logic 9 with bolted on features. There's actually slot more changes under the hood to the underlying code. LP9 is Obj-C, LPX is Obj-C 2.0. LPX uses a lot of the new frameworks available in the later versions of OSX and dropped the use of some outdated ones and dropped 32bit. So it really looks like a lot of code had been rewritten. It also loads faster, feels snappier and plugin scanning is way faster. The binary size of Logic 9 is 30Mb and LPX is 18Mb, so some heavy rewriting must have been going on.

They've created a great new foundation for them to add new features over in the coming updates.

i'm in the app store now debating whether to hit buy on this but there's soooo much negatives here about LPX i may stick with LP9 for a bit. I'm new to this DAW so going by all the banter on here it doesn't look like it's a big deal to upgrade right now but maybe some positive comments can sway me. I still have C7 on the Mac with LP9 so if anyone really is enjoying the new LPX speak now cause i'm on that button lol

I'm also pretty new to Mac/Logic, having just bought my MacBook Air in Feb and Logic in April IIRC. I was just starting to really get used to Logic 9 when X was announced, and there were really only two things about L9 that bugged the hell out of me: (1) L9's stupid implementation of track folders, and (2) the inability to move aux buses around in the mixer view. Logic X fixed the former with track stacks, but not the latter. To me, though, the new track stacks are a huge benefit, since I'm only using Logic on my MacBook Air, and screen real estate is very valuable to me. Well, not to mention that I'm just used to using track folders in my other DAWs and because I'm the most anal SOB in the world when it comes to keeping projects organized in my DAW.

Aside from those two issues, I was really still in the honeymoon stage with Logic and I hadn't used it long enough to be annoyed by much else, so Logic X is like a second honeymoon. I definitely prefer it over Logic 9 already.

You can move buses around in the mixer. Select the bus (or buses) first then chose "create arrange tracks for selected channel strips" in the mixer options dropdown menu. Once in the arrange page you can move them where you want and the mixer will reflect that. This also allows you to automate/edit them as well.

Live 9 and Pro Tools 11 were less significant updates. The only major DAW to have more feature rich recent updates is probably only Cubase. Yes Logic is playing catch up to Cubase but nothing else can compete. And if you prefer the Logic work flow, this is a great upgrade.

The problem is, I'm then stuck with all of my aux tracks (often 20 or more) in my arrange view and that is far less preferable to me than having them out of order in the mixer. I've tried to find a way to hide them from the arrange view after reordering them, but hiding them from the arrange view always results in them going back to the old order in my mixer view. If there's a solution, I'm all ears.

At that point you can only minimize them so they don't clutter up your arrange page too badly. Perhaps Apple will someday implement reordering in the mixer directly. Not holding my breath though, never seemed to be a priority to them.

Can't you try to sort of hide your auxes using a track stack? Just taking a guess here because I won't be able to get LPX for a while to come (my computer isn't suitable).
