I'd really like to buy Kirk Hunter's Solo Strings 1. Will it work with Logic Pro X, or will I have to buy something else (like Kontakt) to make it work?

Thanks!

Kirk Hunter libraries are made for Kontakt so if you do not own it you would need to also buy Kontakt.

I do not believe KH provides the Kontakt player and am unsure if these libraries will work in the player opposed to full version of Kontakt.

Perhaps another KVR'r will chime in here.

See this KH pdf file for requirements and other information:

Thing is, for solo strings, it says EXS24 Version Available, and Logic has EXS24, so I wouldn't have to have Kontakt, right? Logic as EXS24 already installed.

I do not use Logic so I cannot say. It appears so but it is probably best you pose your question in the Kirk Hunter forum here at KVR to be sure before spending the money. Scroll down on the main forum page to locate the KHS forum.

I have several of his libraries and really enjoy using them. But they are all in the Kontakt format.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful.

if they have an EXS24 version, it will work in Logic. the way it works is you get a bunch of samples that go in one folder, and another folder of the instruments. when you open up EXS24 it will show up in the list of available instruments.
