The sluggishness has been fixed. I am really digging it now, I've warmed to it very much.

1. I thought that MIDI out for plugins was already implemented. I've never actually tested it, but the SDK wants you to build one version with and one without it.

2. Wrt your ARP question: this is from the manual. "Capture live performance button: Click the button, then drag the playing arpeggio to any software instrument track. The currently playing arpeggio pattern is placed as a MIDI region at the target position." The button referred to is the one that looks a bit like a piano roll, located next to the play button in the top left corner.

all features from the old Logic are there (see transport bar for example "midi in display + chord in") you need to simply navigate and activate stuff into menus.

for Sylenth1 I read somewhere here on KVR Leannar is working on it , in the meantime you can do a very simple thing:
Jbridge it, then Fxpansion Vst to Au and you should get something like this:

I just attempted to bridge Sylenth 1 to 64 bit and of course the VST to AU wrapper could not load the bridged VST. Did you actually have success with this?

Yes. Mid out support has been available for AU since Leopard, but Logic itself has not supported midi out, from say a softsynth like ABL2. Some softsynths seems to only do this on the VST version, which means you are screwed in Logic to do things other DAWS already can.

I know about that capture button. It does not record your long and complex arp pattern. If you hold down a chord, and then drag that button to a midi region, it just copies, or capture, just that short hold chord thing you do with one hand. Not really very useful, and not what I want to do.

I want to be able to arpeggiate, 4 bars or or more, of strings or synth leads, and then have the arpeggiated notes recorded as midi notes, either on the same track, if that is possible, or on a separate track. This way I can also transfer the midi arpeggio pattern to another DAW, or when I need to send stems to someone.
It's 2013, most of us actually want to record the complex arps we make, not just sync them to tempo like in the 80's.

I'm liking the new look of Logic Pro X.. after testing for a day i quite like the workflow and it suits my needs perfectly. No problems yet here except for when i resize a plugin sometimes from 100% down to 50% it shows 51% lol.. minor issue

A couple of pictures here.. love the color though.

I have always used Logic myself, since my first computer music making days, so I've got nothing bad to say about it. But as a Reason user now (especially with v7) there is very little in Logic X that excites me.

I'm very new to Logic i have been on it for 2 months (Logic 9) however i find the new version very exciting and i will try to master it the best i can. I'm happy to be on board the train lol and so far it's great (for my needs anyways)
Love the Flex Time functions.. the Arp is cool too

I like these Logic instruments ES2 etc i wonder if there'd be any point in totally building a new sound library for the included synths and some sample packs for EXS24 hmm.. not sure if people actaully use them but i really like them here.

Judging from the screenshots, it looks like a nice, tidy, clean GUI. The Apple guys surely know how to make good GUI's.

Well it really does look amazing IMO it just feels right to me. I didn't like the bright silvery LP9 much but i didn't work in it for long. This version just feels and looks right for me. It's running solid too.. starts up in 2 seconds lol i'm on MNP Retina i7 16gbram 256 ssd

Love it so far.

Hm, nice. Jealously waiting half a minute for Cubase to start up here.

2 seconds is almost Reaper dimensions.

I should have said an empty project though, never tried loading with a heavy load but will test soon but for start up to an empty project it's just there as soon as i click it

I do have C7 too here on the same Mac.. start up time is ridiculous from scratch then i'm waiting till it connects to servers etc.. a joke that was 7.0.5

The sound libraries used to be really big (for ES2 and EXS24). Regarding the UI, does it allow to use independent (non docked) windows, like for example the score or the mixer? And what about the Environment? Was anything touched in there?
