Nice about Synthmaster you can also drag your own samples in there. Never tried the other synth i heard it's a cpu killer so a no go ;-)

Have fun

Yes Rob, it is heavy, especially on my older PC. I couldn't really even use it.

ANA is better CPU-wise, not as much CPU as Spire, but ANA can still be kinda heavy on certain presets that have a lot of modulation and voices going on.

Thanks man..

Yes - Spire is CPU heavy.. I figured out.. :b

But seems great apart from that..

And Synthmaster ROCKS ! :)

If ANA had comparable CPU usage to Sylenth, I would have bought it. For the amount of CPU it uses, the sound just doesn't do it for me. I still think it's an underrated plugin though.

To OP, good choice on SynthMaster. I like it for EDM stuff. I still need to buy the rest of Rob's banks.

I've noticed with ANA that CPU use goes down dramatically if you:

1. Turn off ANA's effects, like reverb, etc.
2. Shorten release times a bit

Shorter release times are obviously related to the number of voices playing at a given time.

MuSynth inside MUX from mutools is excellent and you also get one of the best modular tool around. There's also a drum sampler with 12 pads and multi-sampler inside and you can create your own chains.

+1 for synthmaster. I also hear that Ana might be the closest to Sylenth.

Here's a whole thread on this over at gearslutz with sound examples.

Ana has max 8 voices per oscillator (x 3 osc), Spire 9 voices (x 4 osc)and some special Unison modes.
Sylenth looks a bit dated compared to this synth but has the most presets of all.
well sylenth sounds MUCH better than ANA, it's just a higher quality sound.

Get ANA if you like hardcore aliasing.
ANA can produce sounds Sylenth can't even come close to. ANA also sounds fantastic. In terms of synths that can nail the Sylenth sound ANA is probably the closest.

As far as aliasing, ANA is a young synth in its second major version. I'm sure the fine gentlemen at SA have remove all aliasing for Theo on their todo list. :)

People are making hits with Sylenth and ANA. Great synths.

Spire is definitely the closest in terms of sound. It has a bit more high frequencies and also has clearer high frequencies. It has a very similar character and the same kind of "digital" warmth.

Out of all three synths I like Spire best. Sounds amazing to me.

After many comparisons, I personally believe that the closest are:

Zebra2 (with analogue XMF filter) and Crisp oscillators
Spire

Spire unfortunately doesn't have Filter Drive but Zebra2 does. However, Spire's raw sound is more edgy and a cross between Massive and Sylenth1. Hopefully Spire gets the arp and better CPU usage soon, it is one of most exciting synth releases ever imho!

In my personal experience, ANA and Dune don't really come close when it comes to raw sound quality of the oscillators and/or filters.

I briefly tried Synthmaster, but should give it another try sometime. It seems that lots of people love it.

I own a Virus TI too, which I would say Spire is the closest to in terms of sound and features. But the TI covers more ground in terms of oscillator types, effects, distortion and FM, but Spire sounds just as good at the sounds it can produce.
