one thing I've wondered is, has there been any verification that the audio engine has NOT been reworked? Would it matter?
It would be surprising if a company like Apple didn't do what it could to make sure it's pro versions can move easily into new and upcoming technologies. I wish we could find out what the overall thinking is on this. What do they gain by "dumbing it down" ( which strikes me as an arrogant reaction )?

Whatever they did, it's easy to see some new ideas implemented really well and I feel inspired with the new interface. I really like this update. I love the new drumming stuff ALOT, and the remote app, and for that matter everything that has been added. My only gripe really is them not re-working the plugin graphics and zero updates to EXS24.

They should have waited a bit longer with the release of LPX. Not sure what the rush was for.

Because it looks and feels like Garageband with childish cutesy Kyle the drummer for children and low and behold they added an Arpeggiator and midi plugs ...Wow, Just like everything else has had for about a decade. If you turn off Advanced features it turns into Garageband with wood panels and all.

New Logic Pro X features are HUGE, workflow is greatly enhanced, it's faster than 9, sleeker looking and pricing is really low to start with. Well... the dongle is your Mac but nothing is perfect

I'm a Logic user and have been for 15 years. My opinion is Logic Pro X looks like Garageband...because it does. I have mentioned that that is my opinion whether it is a good thing or bad is up to the individual. As I mentioned this thread about the latest Logic Pro X. I figured It would be suited to both sides of opinion. Didn't realise it was a "Logic Pro X only people that like it" thread. Not really my problem if you are so offended by me thinking it looks like Garageband. I really don't care if you are offended. Get use to living in the world where people have different opinions of your own.

ok, it looks like garageband. and?? it's still pro software, can do far more than garageband...more than logic 9. isn't that a GOOD thing?

if it's GUI resembles GB, well...good for those who migrate FROM GB. for me, a logic user (since 2008), this is the best logic yet....i can get my work done, enjoy that process...with more tools, options, then ever before. the GUI took me several days to get used to, and now...would NEVER want to go back to L9. music IS colorful, after all...

seriously, summed track stacks alone is making me happy. PLUS there's more...

Yes that is annoying. Have they not even made them retina compatible?

they do resize though. I can appreciate that. I don't remember an AU or VST plug that did that before...

I really think LPX looks great, but i prefer certain colorus in general anyway, and the fact it's easier on the eyes after many hours of work, especially at night.

They resize in L9 too - but it's hardly worth it as the gui and fonts are too blurry when resized. So if they have updated the graphics to support high resolutions like retina does that mean they resize better now?

Well, there are colors in Logic X and I like the colors they chose for button highlights and stuff. I assume you are referring to a more Cubase type design? I like that too. Both schemes work for me. In fact, I like all the interfaces i've used. Live, Reason and Logic. Haven't tried Reaper but I hear its pretty nice. Studio One is workable but something bugs me about their graphics in general. Clean and workable but not really inviting. Great program though!

It means that you are not really allowed to criticise or bring up anything that shows any flaw from anything from Apple, or to have any opinions, if they vary from the longtime users that also owns Apple products. They know best, If you do, then you get a so called shitestorm you don't deserve.
