Yep, dl speed 48kb/s, this could take some time! I don't know whether to leave it or just try again tomorrow, that should normally take about an hour if that.

It's now saying 1 day left, it got worse!
I'll give it a bit and see if it goes down but it doesn't look like it will.

I have just installed the drumkit, and I have to tell it sounds really solid.
It has 9 stereo asignable outputs:
-two for kick (front and rear mics)
-two for snare (over and botton mics)
-one for hihat
-one for tom1
-one for tom2
-one for tom3
-one for general overhead, which by the way is the only output able to control the cymbals.
It has a nice compressor and eq for each part (again, the cymbals only through the overhead mic)
A useful bunch of mixer presets with styles like blues, disco, rock, metal, etc.
And a healthy set of predefined beats!
There's no machinegun effect as far as I notice.
Overall, a great sounding drumkit!
The only two caveats are:
-you can't change any of the instruments, there is only just one drumkit.
-the cymbals can't be mixed separately

I just got a copy of Germany's latest "Recording Magazin" issue. There is a DVD with a carboard sleeve in there, offering DrumMic'a.
I didn't take a closer look so far, so I don't know if you still need to register in order to get a serial or not. Or if that is handled through Native Instruments.
But... to those that wand a physical DVD, Mac/Win Hybrid, have an eye out in music magazines that come bundled with CDs/DVDs usually. Maybe there is an extra DVD with the software.
No need for me to download now. Unless they release an update. But then again, that is usually handled through Native Instruments.

double-click the file and then drag from the small window on the right of the 'play' arrow, not from the main beats windowcyphersuit wrote:can anybody drag n drop midi to daw like the manual says?

Yes, but, just like studio drummer, you have to load the clip into the groove player first and drag from there. It doesn't seem to work to drag it from the browser.cyphersuit wrote:can anybody drag n drop midi to daw like the manual says?

So, double click the groove to load into the (internal) player, then drag from the player (text box next to groove play button} into your daw.

Have to say this is a mighty impressive freebie and there seems to have been an awful lot of hard work gone into this! As a result I'm wondering if there will be any plans for future development of this product!??

I'm having problems downloading this on Windows 8. My browser is Google Chrome and I'm using Free Download Manager.
When I have download it and go to open it I keep getting "Bad zip header found" !???
When I originally tried downloading without Free Download Manager the download would get to about 700mb and then stop. I would still get the same "Bad zip header found" error.
Any ideas what's going on?

I downloaded and tried this, and I must say I am somewhat disappointed. The whole thing is very professionally done, but the sound of the drumkit is very special, very raw and unprocessed. For me, who wants quick access to good sounding, already molded and polished drums, Addictive Drums will continue to be my choice. The DrumMicA will only get used very rarely, when I need that special unprocessed natural sound.

Dude, it was free! Moreover, the point of it is to demo their mics and I suspect that they want you to be able to hear the differences. You have lots of tools within the set to modify the sound. Personally, I like the sound of the drums and I think that they will be useful. To me they fit between NI 60s drums and Studio Drummer, but then, I don't use a lot of acoustic drums.User123 123123 wrote:I downloaded and tried this, and I must say I am somewhat disappointed. All the FX (EQ, compression, transient designers etc) available in the mixer panel for this library in K5 offer a chance for students of the art to learn how to effectively process drum sounds that have been recorded directly with the nominated mics and mic pres or a console. I would surmise that people interested in having or availing themselves of these skills are the market for Sennheiser's drum mics. People who just want to slot pre-recorded and pre-processed sampled drum libraries into their ITB music will have no need of drum mics and therefore not who this is targeted at.
