I was reading the latest CM, with an interview with BT, listening his main soft synth plugins as:

Synthmaster
Diva
Rayblaster
z3ta+
Razor

I'm kind of amazed that he still uses z3ta+, it's over 10 years old now, I guess it goes to show what kind of classic it is.

Why drop a tool if it's still working?

And you have to admit, there are tons of really good preset packs (free and commercial) for z3ta. It's not just a "trance" and "Drum and Bass (techstep/darkstep/neurofunk)" machine.

I'm actually surprised, that he doesn't use Synth1. Or the usual suspect: Omnisphere.

I would have thought ReFX Nexus2

He is probably using Sylenth1 and Omnisphere, but the five plugs listed is his MAIN tools, his "go to" synth

Not if we talk about Ichiro Toda's Synth1.

I have enough synths but I miss Razor. Shouldn't have sold it. :bang:

Maybe he meant z3ta 2 ? At any rate, yeah, z3ta is good for certain sounds, I still use it occasionally now that I got it again when they gave it away free last year. And he probably knows it inside and out by now and just likes getting the sounds he wants from it fast. :)

Don't forget that BT has more synths than anyone else on the planet, and his 'go-to' synths might be just what he's been using this week! I'm a big fan of the guy's music, the incredible mind behind it...i mean, if that's what he manages to record, imagine what he must hear in his head!

But i have to admit, when BT talks about synths, i take it with a grain of salt.
He churns out more motifs and hooks per track than I have in the last ten years, so i believe his concept of time is vastly different to mine, therefore his definition of 'synths he's using' may refer to just within the last half hour.

I dunno, but i'm huge fan. Not all his works sit well with me, but his musical and (often)lyrical eloquence seem to make my attempts redundant!

Hmm isn't that the guy that says on the Camel Audio website that Alchemy is the best synth he ever used, or something?

Hmm let's look for a quote.. found it:
BT wrote:"This is the best synth I have ever used in my entire life. Hard or soft synth, the most elegant, animated, beautiful, evocative synthesizer ever made."
 Could you pass the salt over here please xalama? I'll have some too

No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

What? Are you implying that people may be saying things that are not 100% true in publicity, or magazines?
I can't believe that, it would be the end of everything!

*cough cough*

I liked BT's early stuff. I bought two of his albums years ago but then lost touch with the later stuff. On the commercial front he always seemed a bit like the Jorden Rudess of the electronic music world IMO. In other words: a whore.

BT's main foundation seems to be the apple platform, and seeing how much problems it has been with the z3ta+ 2 mac version, I doubt he has upgraded yet ;)

Movement In Still Life is a masterpiece in my opinion.

His earlier stuff is interesting, but doesn't quite make the grade.

On his later stuff he has decided to add a lot of vocal, which is completely against my wishes, so I stay clear off that :D

But let me repeat that Movement In Still Life is a masterpiece 8)

I'd be interested to hear about what he was using around the days of This Binary Universe, but that's about it.

Yes, BT is a good producer and musician. He's also an endorsement b*** and any product he's using means zero about *real* quality for me.

Same with all CM awards backed by advertising money, CM software from the same developer or background agreements we will never know.

I love music but I dislike how bad the industry is at times.
