I would be surprised if this was a Superdaw. I don't even know that could exist and don't think it will ever.

On one side of the fence you have Logic, Cubase and Protools users and the like. On the other side you have Live, Bitwig. I don't see anyone encompassing everything that these DAWs do. I think the answer is to have a couple. So Bitwig may just be one piece of the pie if it's good enough, which it looks up to snuff so far. Being that I'm not a Live user, I think I would choose this one as my other side of the fence DAW. But if Live came with Push or was the same price as Bitwig, I would choose Live.

Bitwig's BIG advantage? Currently, Bitwig is everything you can imagine it is, all the features, the workflow, every single thing (until they release it!) :hihi:

Please never release it to never burst my bubble :hihi:
I'm a big fan of Vermberaudio Surge and knowing Claes it WILL be a very smart DAW over time!

I really just hope that you will be able to record audio and midi in Bitwig. AND be able to play back what you just recorded.

WOW that would be great 8) 8)
Studio One 2.6, Omnisphere, Trillian, Massive, Synthmaster - plus other plugins and Ipad apps.

One can only deal with so many Real Soon Nows.
Don't you worry, as soon as it's released you'll still all be over it like flies over cow dung.
Yeah right...with studio one working so well here.

I doubt it...very much. :P
I considered it for a while but then invested my money in a Live update, so not really going to give Bitwig that much thought now. If it takes this long for them to deliver on v1, you've got to wonder if the same is going to be true of v2, v3, etc. It might launch with a bunch of advantages over other DAWs, but who knows if they can stay ahead of the game?

There is little point in releasing something only as good as the competition.
Why would anyone buy that? They must offer something clearly worth the $$$ and
$learning curve hours$

And since the competition is not sleeping, their initial release has
to surpass the forward inertia of other DAWs (although users of some
DAWs report dissapointing changes, rather than forward inertia)

Yeah that would be great. But right now they are busy making an integrated modular synth system so you can modulate your modulated modulators modulations. Thats important too.

But I don't think it's bad to be patient and make it a proper release with as little bugs as possible. I think that's a good attitude. They had me at proper PDC and plug-in sandboxing. ;) All I'm waiting to find out is how they're handling drum rack sends and macros. In Ableton Live, each device rack in a drum pad can map it's macros to it's sends, which is huge. So using you can make your default drum pad device something with send macros, thus having easy access on something like Push. I'd be hard pressed to leave that for Bitwig if it didn't have it.
Now that I have Push, I am much less likely to switch to Bitwig. Push is fantastic!
If Bitwig is ever released, odds are Push will work with it just fine.

I'm very frustrated about the whole situation right now because pretty much every DAW sucks. So if they have something better, I'd sure as hell like to know about it.
