I noticed that when trying to compose music with an Android sequencer app (Caustic) there is over 1 second delay from pressing a piano key, when I use bluetooth headset (Nokia BH-103).

I got the impression that this is caused by Android, not by the application, so my question is: is there also this long delay if I use a similar application in IOS or Winphone8...?

I guess it would be very difficult to compose with so long delay.. :)

And btw.. I have android jelly bean 4.1.2 on Galaxy S2 i9100.

Is it any better with regular earplugs or through tge dpeakers?

yes, much better, still the 100ms delay though.

I have seen that already months ago, but it has nothing to do with bluetooth latency, I suppose...?

Hopefully some day google will reduce the "internal latency" from 100ms to <10ms, but I suppose still bluetooth will add 500-1000ms more to it..?

For your information: any digital transmittal results in extra latency since it involves the filling of a buffer that needs to be full before the package with it's data can be sent. Then on to the next digital step which ofcourse needs another buffer to be filled etc etc.
Use earplugs with a cable if the extra latency bothers you. Google can't do anything about it, they did not manufacture or design BlueTooth audio.

Bluetooth headphones will increase (perhaps significantly) your latency.... I'd grab a wired pair, you'll find the Synth Keys much more playable. Some devices are now playing Caustic Synths with latency below 50ms, to a point, where (testing in Caustic 3 right now) you can enter notes into the Pattern Editor by playing notes on the keyboard rather than entering them in the grid....

Give 'em time, it will get better, the more that audio-handling apps become more mainstream...

You have your normal audio latency <PLUS> your Bluetooth latency. With the horrible latency android has currently, plus the bluetooth latency, I can only imagine how bad it must be!
