Easiest way to diagnose this sort of thing is to delete the plugin and then make sure your host can't find it. Chances are it will still find it, which means the host is looking somewhere else before the folder you have copied the plugin to. If you are on mac then make sure to delete the plugin from both your user and system plugin folders, if you are on windows check through your hosts plugin paths and make sure to delete the plugin from all of them. For either platform once you have gotten the host to not find the plugin you can then copy new version to the plugin path of your choice and you're in business.themossinator wrote:my version of The Drop is still showing 0.9.14 even though ive downloaded and installed 0.9.16 (twice) ????

Hi Andy,
Just played a bit with the updates (VST, on Windows) and noticed,
that I can't bypass both TheDrop/TheGlue within Cubase (V. 6.5.3).
I don't mean the plugin bypass function, but the bypass provided by the DAW.
Cheers

I have had reports from a couple of other users about this also. I'll add it as a known issue to the release notes.losan wrote:Hi Andy,

Cubase let's you know that it is a bad idea to bypass such great plugins! At least not all at once=))losan wrote:Hi Andy,

I've found the problem and fixed it with one line of code, I'll release a new version soon. For those that use the bypass button and have a host that supports it then use the AU version as this works fine, it's only the VST plugin that has this issue.losan wrote:Hi Andy,

(edit: also you can use the plugin parameter called "Power" to do exactly the same thing that the host bypass button does, which is bypass processing but still keep a constant delay so that PDC doesn't need updating and everything still stays in sync)

Hey Andy, quick question. If I was to use The Drop "beta" on some projects, is there a chance that the current filter models will change slightly before the full release or are the current models considered "finished"?

The models are final, but if I can work out any optimisations that reduce cpu or give a more accurate solution with fewer iterations of the algorithm then I'll update them, but this won't generally be audible.Nig wrote:Hey Andy, quick question. I actually have algorithms of all the remaining filters up and running (ie Ladder PR, and MS1) but until I do the final version that will remain unchanged I won't release them in the Beta.

Great to hear that the models are finished Andy. So is it the remaining functionality (i.e. the known issues/features yet to implement) that is holding you back to release an 1.0 at the moment?

Perhaps my post was a bit misleading, what I meant was the filter models that are released won't change. The remaining models are all working and sounding great, but I've not fine tuned them to be in final form by matching them to the analog circuit (I have to manually build some of the circuits). The list of remaining work is included in the release notes: http://www.cytomic.com/files/The%20Drop ... 0Notes.pdfxiphiuz wrote:Great to hear that the models are finished Andy. Awesome, thanks Andy. Think I'll pick it up fairly soon soandy_cytomic wrote:The models are final, but if I can work out any optimisations that reduce cpu or give a more accurate solution with fewer iterations of the algorithm then I'll update them, but this won't generally be audible.Nig wrote:Hey Andy, quick question. Indeed, it was a little misleading for me. Perhaps my post was a little bit misleading too. News: There is a new version of The Drop ready for download, that will hopefully finally fix the random silencing problems people have been having when inserting new instances, sorry that took so long to find!

- New: optional checking of all input and output buffers for invalid numbers
- Fixed: intermittently uninitialized glide voltage that could cause cutoff frequencies to be locked to 0 Hz and so cause silencing of a channel
- Fixed: re-connected host bypass button for VST version (was lost in Juce update)
- Fixed: re-connected latency reporting for AU version (was lost in Juce update)

thanks for this btw Andy
I haven't had any problems so far with this version (predominantly using x64 VST on OSX in Cubase 6.5.4 and Live 9.0.5)
