well I'm unable to use the new MainStage3 for gigging. IMP1, Minimonsta and Oddity don't work on it. I can use Mainstage2 and that is exactly what i will do. But yes, that is crippleware.
I guess I'm also annoyed that I got an email message saying now is the last time I can even get the ugprade to IMP2 at a reduced price, pretty soon it won't even be $75 it will be even more.
Anyway, I'm going to unwatch this topic because the discussion is going round and round nowhere. I've stated my opinion, nothing else to say, and sorry GeForce didn't win a purchase from me, but just making it known, I hope it will positively effect strategic decisions they may make in the future. If they just want to scoff at disgruntled customers and say we are the bad guys for feeling this way, well..that says something too and wins my business even less.
peace

Indeed. impOSCar does exactly what it was sold as doing. But now he expects someone else to foot the bill for supporting his deliberate decision to break that, ie changing to a 64-bit platform which impOSCar was never sold as being suitable for.topaz wrote:You keep calling 32bit plugins crippleware, there's your issue right there.
They still work fine, they are not in any way crippled.

Its a real pity that you were 'forced' to upgrade to it, then. Why isnt it Apple's fault for not creating 32-bit version of Mainstage3, by the way, since its them that's are responsible for creating a 'crippleware' DAW thats broken for impOSCar. They've known for at least ten years that people use 32-bit plugins...Dewdman42 wrote:well I'm unable to use the new MainStage3 for gigging
impOSCar : does what it always did, ergo not crippled
mainstage3 : not available for 32-bit, ergo crippled.

Exactly, personally I'm finding the whole 64bit thing a bit tiresome.
And that's exactly why I'm switching back to 32bit.
To the OP, check out Shineback Rise Up Forgotten, Return Destroyed

All done in PT8 32bit

There is only Synthedit and a few plugs now that refuse x64 compatibility. If you can steer clear of those spoilers, 100% 64bit Native compatibility in 2013 is very possible and the best way to work whenever possible.topaz wrote:Exactly, personally I'm finding the whole 64bit thing a bit tiresome.

As I'm going to be using pro tools 10 (Mac) this is not an option.

I never found any bugs in Imposcar 1. Gforce synths are generally bug free.mcnoone wrote:Were any bug fixes done to the latest imposcar2 32/64bit update?

LOADS! That's why it took so longmcnoone wrote:Were any bug fixes done to the latest imposcar2 32/64bit update?
(Actually I don't think there were THAT many, but some of them were right sods to track down)
But the vast majority were ones introduced in the 64 bit rewrite, so they didn't exist in the previous release. I'd have to check but there were probably a few "rare occurers" that got found in the beta testing that would have occured in the previous release, but if I'd found or users had reported any real issues with the previous version, I'd have released fixes for that in the interim.

Indeed, we seem to have landed in a time where people always must have the latest thing, meanwhile some of the finest artists make great music on old kit.
Once the devs catch up then I may reconsider but right now 64bit is a PITA and really not that essential with memory servers.

I'm only using a 32bit setup, so I'll try this latest one then.
I was and am having some bug like behavior with the last rev, that to report it correctly, I will need to make a video clip of it, as mere descriptions aren't good enough, and saving it as a project does not have the problem once opened back up again, and it happens randomly too. Only minor things though. Will check out the new rev now.

Try using plugs like Amplitube with a few sample libraries on your x86 DAW. Everything today uses more memory than most applications and plugins did 7 years ago but 32bit will work fine if you're not doing that much inside the DAW.
