Miro.

Your song isn't downloading. I listened to it and really like it, but didn't download it earlier...

I pretty much have my top 10 sorted and I want to listen to yours again. It's somewhere in there :)
Play it by ear

Another song which had potential that never evolves beyond the first five seconds
Precisely. I'll do another one version that is ten minutes long with lots of evolving!

Thanks for the heads-up, pheeleep! I just PMd Kajiki (who is hosting for me 8) ) and hopefully he'll fix the link soon.

Barnadine wrote:Earthtones, sorry if you found the tune culturally offensive. It was intended as an ironic take on the cowboy mentality, and I apologise if this didn't come through strongly enough.
itsaright now you've explained it- couldn't tell if you were being sarcastic or what, mostly due to lyrics being hard to decipher - sounded like you were making a bit of a joke out of the terrible treatment/history of the American Indian.

No offense now - it is a touchy subject though, that one should be careful with.....

Schuzzphut – Discussion
Sounds a lot like the Cocteau Twins to me, kept expecting Liz Fraser to come in singing. Really liked the e-bowed guitar, nice job. Left me wishing for a nice vocal part though rather then the mumbling.
Mumbling :?:

 OK earthtones - thanks for listening :) :D

Eric Bourne, codacoda and Wopelka - thank you for the votes 8)

I need to finish listening to and reviewing the last few entries this morning. Then it's voting time. I have to say I'm not looking forward to voting. I can never whittle my list of 27 possibles down to 5 (10 this month  ) votees.
It is a source of much angst and soul searching

Jumpingflash - wake up

this sounds quite 80's MOR to me :-( wouldn't have been out of place in a love scene on Miami Vice. Nice synth lead sound at the end. The solo viola (?) at the end is nice too. I also thought the muted trumpet sounded quite realistic.

Secondskin - Dirt

Discordant and atmospheric. I really don't like the vocal - I honestly think it spoils the track - were you going for a NIN type feel? I could happily have listened to this as an instrumental. Some great synth sounds - especially the growling oscillator-synced riff. Liked everything but the vox.

the system era - moments waste

Bossanova!
I like the way this swells up and down at the beginning. A nice atmosphere and a good set of sounds. Cracking mix and production, too. Something is missing to make it last longer in my head, but what is there is excellently done.

Spaceman - guitar dreams

Flamenco!
The castanet type stuff at the start is very effective. This is a really different angle on that style of music and a nice surprise. Crystal clear mix.
I found this to be very likeable :)

Mo Verdigast - Liquid Pretzel

This is a cracking intro to a song - I think we would really need to hear the 10 minute version. Lovely atmosphere created - I think I would like where this would maybe go. :hihi:

Bonteburg - Radiogag

You forgot your ID3 tags! Bad boy!
Another tracK I think I would like the rest of ....
Some nice guitar work. I also liked the radio snippets at the beginning and end. Doesn't say an awful lot , but what it says, it says effectively.

PHZ - splatter
Some great beat programming here, ROb.
Is this IDM, EBM, or Dark Illbient Techno-trance?
Some great beat programming here, ROb.
There's a brushed snare type sound in there that sticks out.
Some great beat programming here, ROb.
It says "I'm an acoustic drum being played by a laid back jazzman, but Rob's programmed me into a jittering wreck of skitterish fizzbangs".
Or something.
Some great beat programming here, Rob.
Not much else, though :hihi:
