It'll certainly be excellent for latency, drivers, and stability. Its audio quality may not be up to the level of modern interfaces.
In the $300 low end market?

i really doubt it, specially D/A conversion.

The UR22 sounds better than the FireFace 800. I'm guessing it also sounds better than the 9632.

I've only tested the FireFace 800 against the FireFace UFX. When compared to a Benchmark DAC1, the FireFace UFX sounds more like it than the FireFace 800 does. The UFX is really the only RME analog interface that I recommend to people. With that said, I agree with you about the Roland, Echo, and Scarlett, those aren't great sounding interfaces. The UR22 sounds better than those.

I've never tested the Komplete Audio 6 but, sound quality aside, the Komplete Elements and Guitar Rig 5 that it now includes makes it a compelling addition to this conversation.

Let me guess, you actually think the FireFace 800 still holds up? The FireFace UFX sounds much better than any of their previous interfaces and cards.

The UR22 does not compete with the FIREFACE 800. I haven't looked at the UFX numbers, but I'm sure that RME's recent offering is a bit above the FF800. However, I advise using outboard AD/DA conversion through ADAT optical and utilizing a high-end pre with a built-in quality DI.

RME drivers are the best in the business for PC, and for expandability the FIREFACE 800 and UFX just about have all that you need.

Can recommend UR28M. I got mine openbox for about $300.
