Hi there,
Well i finally just downloaded the demo x64 of SPIRE and well errr it really does sound tops IMO. I'm just testing on a Q6600 here for quickness and most of the patches play just fine on my machine. Some patches are cpu intense but nothing too bad. Will try on the i7 mac later. However i found something as soon as i tried to program a patch see picture below. The OSC says -11 +11 ??? Something not right here. Anyways great sound and will buy this tonight without doubt. Well done with this one it sounds great. That hissing noise in the demo pissed me off though BUT i'll get the full version tonight!

I'm not the dev but I think it is normal to have +11 -11 as notes values, since +12 -12 are the octave and u can access it with pushing the buttons with arrows.
For now you can reset the knobs with control+click (windows). I would prefer double click too as I don't like to use my keyboard while programming synths.

Nice sounding synth BUT it's no Virus although it'll fit nicely in to my music for sure, factory sounds are nice as they are no need for more IMO good stuff

you're welcome,
I usually don't read the manual for anything, but with Spire I found myself constantly getting back to the manual, I even would like a button somewhere to summon the manual anytime...
Why is that ? because labeling is not clear IMHO, with sometimes weird abbreviations.
I constantly forgot what are the different modes (mono1-4, poly1-2). Extremely annoying. Also I always forget what is ANA, is retrig on when ANA is on ? or is retrig on when ANA is off ?? I constantly forget what is the chorus mode and the flangers mode in the chorus section.
I don't understand really well what are the DCM and FLT+DCM options in the shaper section... Since one can already applying filtering and decimation anytime in the shaper so not so sure what are these options.
Also I don't know if this is since the new updates, bot I got horrible clicks while playing patch number 2 with a lot of fast notes.
Spire is great, but I think Spire could be the killer synth if all the little problems were solved. I guess it will be for future updates ^^

It's good to read the manual of all synths mate. If someone took their time to write them it's always worth having a good read. I just installed the SPIRE and started playing presets right off the bat (Really nice too) so maybe tonight after i purchase i'll take a deeper look.
It does sound great though imo.
Good job to the developer/s

Mmmh I guess it depends, if the synth has the usual controls. Reading the manual is sometimes boring as hell as u don't learn anything new.
Here in the case of Spire I find the manual to be a little bit unclear for certain things. But I've read that it will be rewritten so I hope for a bit clarifications ^^

A nice sounding synth still imo. Will fit nicely in with some projects here. Will check it out more later.Davias wrote:Mmmh I guess it depends, if the synth has the usual controls. Reading the manual is sometimes boring as hell as u don't learn anything new.
