Apparently there are some 1.6.1 files left on my system. After deletion it should work.
But how to find them all?

Yes the Spark team are away on holiday for a week, Toby@Arturia is the guy I am talking to, he has found the same error as mine on a similar set-up, so no way a fix until said team are back.
I'm wondering if mine is the same problem, 1.6.1 files lurking still, I've told him your presonus fix and asked where things could be hidden...?

I solved this myself. Haven't tried out old projects yet. To early to say how successful i was.
Used the windows uninstaller. Which seemed to kill everything related to spark. Reinstalled 1.7. Works now in a new project. Will see what happened to my old tracks this coming week.

Yes i managed to open more than once. Had terrible sound at first. Closed daw, opened standalone and configured midi. after that it worked.

old projects work with spark edm and vdm. they do not work with spark dubstep until you "replace" instrument with 1.7. (which is easy to do).

Actually I retract my previous statement of it working fine after a reinstall.
It did launch and work and all that, but as of lately it both been painfully slow to work with (kind of stalls for 0.5 seconds every 2 seconds or so.), crashes frequently- and to that extent it's not usable at all anylonger.
I hope arturia fixes this plugin quickly, I just lost 1.5 hours of drum sequencing because the plugin crashed- and now crashes everytime it's supposed to play a note.

1.7 for me is unusable, I'm back to 1.6.1

Same here but Windows 8 and Reaper. An uninstall then reinstall fixed it the first time, now it's back to crashing again. I don't bother using it anylonger. (The crashes I encounter now are most often when draging sequences in the song sequencer; Which by the way is painfully sluggish.)
