Valhalla Room, the only reverb i need?

I love Valhalla Room. It's my goto reverb plugin, but I wouldn't want it to be my only reverb. I love a good plate reverb, and as someone mentioned already, Valhalla Room doesn't do plates very well. Probably Valhalla Room + one good plate reverb would keep me satisfied. I always use plate reverb somewhere.

Yep, this is true. I love VRoom but for plates I use mostly SKnote's Verbtone (great for vintage style plate verbs and algorithmic) and VNXT EMT 140 library with Nebula. This is good combo in my books.

Still, if one reverb should rule them all, VRoom it would be

Valhalla Room and Valhalla Vintage Verb are my main reverb plugins. They're absolutely incredible! I think VVV is one of the most beautiful plugins ever made (GUI, colours).

I have both Room and Shimmer and use them both for very different purposes. They sound completely different. I also have CSR, AAR and the reverbs in Live and Logic. They sound different as well. Different tools for different goals....

... but I usually just use Room and Shimmer. I was only half joking when I said it's not about need. If you want every reverb sound ever made, you'll "need" an ass load of plugins. If you want reverb that sounds good, you'll need to learn how to use reverb.

Yesterday i bought Valhalla Vintage Verb and had a few hours with it in Logic X. This has to be one of my best investments in a while. It does brilliant things to sounds. Now this week i'll re-purchase the rest of the Valahalla stuff i always regretted selling the others. Value for money don't get better than this IMO.

I have Valhalla Room, Vintage and Shimmer reverbs -- as well as others, some considerably more expensive (fav is 2CAudio). Each are different, so the "best" one depends on the applcation.

Valhalla Room would be my recommendation for a first pro level reverb in this price range or even double the price. It has a great natural sound on almost everything I put it on. It is showing up on many pro level album releases.

I personally like the simple Valhalla GUI. It was made by design for ease of use.

As you have more $$, you'll certainly want a variety of reverbs to complete your palette. That's why I bought Valhalla after already owning others.

Been playing around with using the Leap Motion controller in Live and I have to say that I love the GUI's even more now. Just ridiculously easy to manipulate compared to other plugins.More reason now to finally get übermod and VVV.

I really wanted to like the 2C Audio stuff. I was just demoing B2. The GUIs are nice, but I still prefer Valhalla for sound. Vintage Verb is amazing, it's basically like having the whole PCM set in one plugin (which is how Lexicon should have done it in the first place) but better sounding. The only other reverb I use is Toraverb which can truly sound different, letting you accomplish effects you won't be able to with anything else.

I have Valhalla room and have loved it. but at the moment I'm demo'ing Phoenix verb from existential audio and liking it better. It sits less obviously in the mix. We'll see if I keep that opinion

Is fuuny that people comply about the GUI, IMHO is one of the best GUI's on the market, one of the few that is in fact good design (funcitonal, clear, easy, not distracting), not just candy graphics.

I think the GUI's on all the Valhalla plugins are great to look at. They have style and more so at $50 a piece they are a steal. The sound of the plugins speak for themselves.

For anyone not liking the GUI's on any synth/effect it's what under the hood that counts and the sound you can get from it. I know a few bits of software that don't particularly look nice but they do sound the bollocks.

True, however, there are some effects/synths I don't touch because I can't work my way around the GUI. Especially with synths, it's worth something if the GUI helps you program the thing. Unlike the Korg and Logic synths for instance. But that's not about being ugly more about workflow and readability.
But I'm derailing, the Valhalla GUI's look great to my eyes, I love 'em, just as much as the soundquality.
