I'm hoping to see it released on Oct. 31st (Halloween) , which pushes the release into Fall .

If they do release it before the end of Summer, we will be lucky ~ But.. I doubt it.

Oct 31 feels right but in one of those videos Dom said hopefully released this summer. That was about 3 months ago.

Unless he meant summer in New Zealand which would mean either dec jan or feb

Well, you know how that goes.

They'll publish a demo, people will try it, and if it's actually a better tool, few will punish themselves out of principal by not using something that they actually do think is a better tool just because they had to wait a long time for it. :)
Not necessarily. In my case I invested money in other tools, so why would I waste that investment? If it does turn out to be much superior to Live then over time I might transition, but even if v1.0 is great, how long might the wait be to v2.0 and how much further ahead might Live be by then?

Those are the kinds of questions that go through my mind, and frankly I don't think anyone can provide answers to those, so I'm sticking with the safe options that I can have here and now.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has thought this way.

Basically that i my thinking as well.

Even if it turns out better than Live, or my current fave Studio One, why would I want to go with that when it's turn over rate is slow to begin with? :?

Did you actually even read the rest of that post you quoted? :)

I think I actually said people who like it but still maybe won't buy it ... "...will more likely be people that have already spent their cash on something else."

Pretty much exactly what you say above?

the delay comes from the fact its so awesome, theyre having to wait for the oed to invent a new word that can describe its awesomeness!
all other daws will need another 8 major updates to achieve what bitwig delivers with version 1!

also, berlin is changing its name to bitwig. there will be a cat parade :)

I'm one of those still looking forward to it coming out, hopefully sooner than later. In the meantime I'm still making music. Although, does anyone know if there is another good daw that is capable of effortlessly moving stuff between projects, having multiple projects open at the same time? this is one of the main features that I'm looking forward to in BW.
