Always a pleasure Andrew. Had a shitload of fun with the Alpha. Can't wait for the Beta and start programming patches.
Really Major update with lots of new stuff and things you won't find in any other synth (well, this way).
Regards
Sebastian

Sounds like fun
Looking forward to the new version
Now I know this is probably not high on the to do list, but I'm sure there are other GUI freaks like me who'd like to have a few more skin options. Maybe a black or steel GUI
Sometimes the little details make things stand out - it seems there will be plenty of new presets to choose from (you got that covered well - smart move btw), a little make up will help promoting this synth even more (I reccon).
Anyway, best of luck

Feature-wise looks way too powerful for just one synth!
That Gremlin thing in particular is something worth waiting

The way I see HYDi is someway like thise:
- three Oscillator sections (with lot's of modulation features) each with it's own unique feature that are all dead mono
followed by
- a amp/filter or filter/amp section with lot's of filters, envelopes and additional envelope features (lin/exp, hold options, reset to zero, punch , curve etc)
followed by
- two fx sections with a bunch of fx that are somehow "mono to stereo converters" and not the ususal choirs, phaser or freq shifter and tons of mod options (lfo, env, inverted, ducking etc)
On page two you have additional features like the quirky step sequencer, additional filter resonance modulation, the micro fx section with the really powerful PanDa fx.
To be honest this one is very powerful with tons of modulation capabilities.
Some old patch test stuff from me made with HYDi 1.2 can be found here:

Yeah, it's quite experimental - alot of stuff for *basically* a mono synth. 'Gremlin' will not be in the final release - I decided to remove it, it's a bit hard to work with because it's highly sensitive to what input it gets, the first 5seconds of the demo I posted a few posts back is 'Gremlin' with just a white-noise input. All is not lost though - it will be reborn into a multi-effects plug that I'm planning (that will hopefully be my first 64bit plug as well.) I replaced it with a compressor btw.Nahkranoth wrote:Feature-wise looks way too powerful for just one synth!

Yip graphics is way low on my list - I didn't even do the graphics for HYDi myself - Sasha from Phuturetone did it. Will be more aware of GUI design for my next release. To be honest - I don't get the GUI 'fashion' like most - I have a custom built rack full of hardware - and HYDi looks better than any of itidfpower wrote:Sounds like funLooking forward to the new version

Lots of presets this time, and also from different people with different styles, which should cover a alot of ground.idfpower wrote: ...- it seems there will be plenty of new presets to choose from (you got that covered well - smart move btw...

If it's that growling/screaming sound then by gawd don't take it away! That was actually my favourite part of the demoIchad.c wrote: Yeah, it's quite experimental - alot of stuff for *basically* a mono synth. These gremlins would vote for it too btw:
Yeah I know those were trolls.

Hmmm, tell you what - send me a private msg with your e-mail adress - and I'll send you the alpha-version(the same one that Halma has) that still has Gremlin in. If you test it and actually find it "reasonably" useable - I'll add it back into the final release. Deal?Nahkranoth wrote: If it's that growling/screaming sound then by gawd don't take it away! *Edit - this deal will expire in 24hours - need to get the Beta out - and I promised Halma that it will be patch compatible - so final dicisions need to be made*

As for the "GUI fashion"...I don't know, shinny toys are eye catchers
Anyway, looking forward to hear the new & improved HYDi version

Dualy noted - will send a screensot of my next synth for your approvalidfpower wrote: I can understand thatHYDi definitively has its charm lookwise, it's just that it could do much better

It will be polar to HYDi, much simpler (GUI & engine), true stereo, less quirks, few effects and polyphonic.

No need to hurry. I liked gremlin too but was really overwhelmed by that time (actually still am because so much to discover and combinate).
But I know you also need a break. I am fine with whatever is your decision.

Deal, but I'll need some time for testing it, being quite busy lately. Most likely will test it on during Sat. if you're OK with that.Ichad.c wrote: Hmmm, tell you what - send me a private msg with your e-mail adress - and I'll send you the alpha-version(the same one that Halma has) that still has Gremlin in. Saturday seems reasonable, it's already done code-wise so just putting it back in won't take much time, and my self-imposed deadline is Sunday/Monday so it fits into my schedule perfectly, e-mail sent. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!Nahkranoth wrote:...some time for testing it, being quite busy lately. Most likely will test it on during Sat. if you're OK with that.

I'm only sorry that I'm not skilled in GUI creation...I would have gladly helped
