Hello,
Will you ever add the possibility to create a midi file from the slice points, with drag export preferably?
That would be wonderful.
Keep up the good work.

Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestions! I'm going to bulk reply here to a bunch of them here:
Re: Slice to MIDI - This was on my TODO list for BeatCleaver 1.3 but unfortunately I didn't have time to do it, so don't let me release 1.4 without this feature.
I definitely want to get that feature in there.
Re: iU's suggestions about editing slices, cmd-click, and crop:
Since this first video, I've coded up the ability to delete sections of audio, some basic integration of the slice and edit concepts, and added an adjustable "gain" edit. What I'm trying for now is just to have your slice points act as a grid that you can snap to when making edits. It feels decent so far, but I might take it one step further and make it so you can "glue" your edits to those slices, so the edits stretch and move around if you decide to adjust the slice points later.
Oh, and I've also added a "Duplicate" edit, which basically lets you move audio around. This whole new Edit Mode is turning out to be pretty good for making variations on drum loops.
Anyways, lots of bugfixing to go but I'm going to try to make another video within the next week!
Thanks!
Albert

1.4 has just been released today actually! The big announcement is coming hopefully later in the day, but you can grab 1.4 from the site right now: http://www.oscillicious.com/beatcleaver (or click the download link in your original registration email again if you can find it)
Thanks!

Looks very cool! Hmm, what about time stretching and granualizing? If there not all ready in thereasantoni wrote:Hey guys,
I've been working on adding some WAVE editing function to my sampling/chopping software (BeatCleaver), and I'm curious to see what you guys think.
Does this approach look useful?
What other types of edits would you like to see?
I still have a lot of design work to do (eg. I have no idea how edit mode and the "slices" from the regular view should work together), so I figured now's a great time to just throw it all out there and see what people want before I keep working on it.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

abstractcats: Real-time and offline timestretching are both already there.
Granulating is more of a synthesis thing, no? Could be useful if I make a VST version...

Cool! Hmm, your probably right, for the granular part. HourGlass, seems to be a good mix, but not being a programmer, I don't know exactly how its works. but you might find it interesting. Thanks for the infoasantoni wrote:abstractcats: Real-time and offline timestretching are both already there.
