Hi,

Just curious to know... :)

My master bus:

DAW: Sonar X1d Producer Expanded

Klanghelm VUMT
to do some gain staging

Waves Abbey Road REDD.51
to add some sweet REDD tone (and noise)

Waves RS56
to wide the stereo image (m/s)

IK Multimedia T-RackS Bus Compressor
to glue the mix together (no heavy compression included)

ToneBoosters Reelbus
to add some nice tape saturation

IK Multimedia T-RackS Metering
to check the phase and levels

Voxengo AnSpec
to check more some levels

Cerberus Audio Ice9
to protect my ears

Then I just export my track (64-bit) and do some final tweaking with iZotope Ozone 5. Well, that's about it. :)

What's on your master bus?

Optimal number of audio plugins is one more than you currently have.

The volume fader. It's at unity level.

Nothing fancy.

DDMF StereooeretS
To make the bass mono.

Budde's Advanced Clipper
To protect my ears and speakers.

Oszillos Mega Scope
To check waveforms/peaks.

Voxengo SPAN
Duh.

JB Isone
To mix on headphones.

I have yet to decide whether to mix into ReelBus or not...

Umm, just the volume fader of the host software really.. Well usually I do have an analyzer there (RS-Met Signal Analyzer).

I usually mix into The Glue, maybe a clipper, and a spectrogram. Not really into the super mega ultra glossy sound :)

Same here. :help: :hihi:

Usually I only have a compressor & limiter (or clipper) on the master bus, sometimes some saturation...

Izotope Ozone and Voxengo Span.

Usually just the volume fader (yeah, at unity too).

In the beginning I'll start out with a limiter just to keep my ears, speakers and/or headphones safe, but this comes off before mixing stages.

OPA827 (summing) and ADA4898-2 (fader buffer).

Sleepy Times Records Stereo Channel for Vu-Metering and gain staging
Sknote stripBUS in SSL 4K mode
Sonalksis freeG (with +9 to +15dB gain)
reaFir where I cut everything below 20Hz and everything upper than 16000Hz
VladG Limiter 6 in ISP 4x mode
Nugen LineUp (to check mono compatibility)
Mda Dither
Dust Analyzer
oscillo mega scope
MAnalyzer
MStereoAnalyzer
MLoudnessAnalyzer

Sometimes I add a funny plug like a saturator or I change the compressor, or I hit the limiter straight... depends.

:)

dB-L - I've been trying various limiters, but somehow I still stick with this one.

Voxengo Soniformer (the old version) - mostly to make low frequencies mono, but sometimes also for compression, or other manipulation of stereo width. Recently I found out that it does very well as a de-esser, but that's not on master bus.

PSP MasterQ - sometimes, when I feel I need an EQ on everything.

DFX RMS Buddy - to check loudness.

...and this is it.
