I have to admit, I'm new to the art of playing records. Here's my approach.

And some pictures of my DJ rig:

I know, I'um doin'it wrong.

Hoot!

I think you've made a fundamental error...that's a CD, not a record. Try vinyl for best results.
A good effort though, keep practicing. :D

Post

Yes, vinyl is for pros. I would need a bigger bow to get this analog sound...

Some technical PS: I used double Pristine Space reverb, PSP Nitro, AD Ricochet and Discord to add some space and TH2 for distortion. There are no synthesizers here and it's overdubbed 4 times, one for a season.

Post

You have much potential, and some decent plugins. But nothing will match the sound of an adequately sized bow on original 60s or 70s vinyl. And practice practice practice. :D

I liked it. Reminded me of the Godzilla sound;
....................Don`t blame me for 'The Roots', I just live here. :x

For best results, wear a nightgown.

That looks like a budget Vivaldi CD. A pro DJ would play a first rate Vivaldi CD. :ud:

Yes, me too!

Dammit. I don't even have a nightgown... Maybe I should get this one: Image

Now that's a plan. You have to find a gimmick if you want to be a success. If you DJ disco records in a Godzilla suit you would become a highly paid superstar DJ overnight. The Godzilla noises with the violin would be part of the act. :)

Wow, really surprising sounds coming from that thing! Curious as to what made you want to try this. Just bought my first quality microphone for recording pretty much anything that can make noise so this is very inspiring.

You should stay away from these cheap chinese microphones. Get a neumann and try again.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Curiosity. And I recently bough a bow, a really cheap and short one to experiment on guitar and bass. It's lots of fun, but you get rosin all over the strings, which makes them sticky, so really you need a dedicated strings to make it worthwhile. Poor Vivaldi was just laying around asking for trouble.

Nah, that was a cheap Japanese mic. :P
