chainer, reaper, vst analyzer, foobar, tried everything, same thing

Thanks for the bug report. Can you please email me so I can have a more detailed exchange with you? We can then post back to this thread once we have sorted out the problem to keep everyone informed. Thanks!

hi Andy,

To compare different filters even faster it would be great if we could click on the name of the circuit to open a popup menu. You've mentioned this before - is it still planned?

Also, i thought it could be helpful to have a visual representation of the effect of LFO Curve, LFO Assym and Phase on the LFO shape (and phase). Do you think the LFO active button could also serve as a small signal viewer (without taking into account the Rate and Mult parameters)?

BTW, thanks again for a great plugin!

I just sent a support email regarding offline rendering not working in 0.9.17 in reaper64 using the 64bit version. Does anyone else have this problem? I believe it is not working because the rendering speed is the same no matter what samplerate I select under offline rendering.

Yes I still need to add a popup menu for the filter circuit types :-)

I'm going to add a little visualiser to the top middle of the interface similar in style to the ones I did for Synth Squad, so when editing the LFO you'll get an accurate display of the LFO shape, but also when editing other things you will also get a visualisation of them as well, so you'll get the filter response and envelope shapes etc as well. I've decided to remove the graphic on the LFO and Envs and just use names instead since this makes selection modulation a little more consistent and some people found the little graphics confusing since they thought the LFO could only do triangle!

Sounds great!

Bump. No response from Andy yet on this. Am I the only one experiencing the rendering sample rate not working?

Can you provide details how you have found it? I'm also using reaper 64 and I can try to reproduce the bug.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been travelling and having little spare time and limited internet access. I have reports of problems switching oversampling, and a single report of a crash in Logic even when keeping the same oversample amount. I'm not sure at this stage what the problem is but I'm going to find out what is going on and fix it as quickly as possible now I'm back in the studio. This is really odd since I fixed these problems and tested thoroughly in Logic and Reaper and Live and all was working fine. I'll let you know more as soon as I do.

Sorry Andy. If I had known you were travelling, I wouldn't have been so pushy. Hopefully finding the problem won't too difficult.

No need to apologize! I didn't have time to sort out auto-responders and managed pretty well for the first week away but then things got more difficult.

My problem was that Reaper was not letting The Drop know it was working in offline mode. It is a check box under vst preferences in Reaper.

News: Thanks for all the bug reports about problems with the oversampler under certain conditions, I've found the bug and had some people test things and it all looks fixed finally! I recommend everyone update to this version.

The Drop v0.9.18 (10 Sep 2013) www.cytomic.com/drop
  • New: popup menus to pick circuit type
  • New: can now click to reset the state of the I/O checking indicator
  • Fixed: random crashes in re-sampler, mostly on 32-bit version
  • Fixed: sometimes reporting incorrect oversampling latency when base sample rate higher than 48 khz

Just downloaded the latest update and made a quick filter sweeping sound using Synthsquads Cypher and The Drop. Both were rendered @ 48khz using their internal oversampling at 8x in Ableton live 9.

I did not save the Drop settings as a preset but a lot of the filtering you hear was done with the drop.

Exported with no dither.

Feel free to download the original 24bit wave file for the best sound quality.

Thanks for the update, Andy. :) Gentle reminder: you should update the links on your homepage as well. It's easy enough for us to copy/paste and increment a digit too, of course, but still... :)
