Btw, the cross slider just disappeared while dialing in the swarm above:

Thanks!Sampleconstruct wrote:Woaaa, what a great update - the new filter system is brilliant, and so are the other new features: just a quick laptop test sitting in front of the TV making the cats nervous, simple short sawtooth impulses into B2, one engine:

Are you running a 32-bit host? This might happen in 32-bit hosts on OSX when doing text entry b/c of come carbon/cocoa behavior. It's just a minor cosemetic annoyance, only when using text entry... It should not happen with 64bit hosts. Does it?Sampleconstruct wrote: Btw, the cross slider just disappeared while dialing in the swarm above:
Thanks, I must of missed that notice! Done and fixed.Galbanum wrote:So if you delete the old "Factory" folder everything should be fine. We will update the installer scripts to handle this.
No, I had Logic set to 32 Bit before installing the update, then Logic crashed right away after the install when opening an instance of B2, so I booted Logic in 64 Bit and then started editing, then the slider disappeard. After saving the preset the slider reappeared again.Galbanum wrote:

Right.. the directory structure must be obeyed in order for the preset browser to display things properly...Breeze wrote:Thanks, I must of missed that notice! I also discovered that you can't use the root of any of the user folders; if you put a preset there, it appears as a category in the browser and can't be selected. FYI.
hmm... ok, we will look into it.Sampleconstruct wrote:No, I had Logic set to 32 Bit before installing the update, then Logic crashed right away after the install when opening an instance of B2, so I booted Logic in 64 Bit and then started editing, then the slider disappeard. OK, i updated the installers. It now deletes the previous /Factory/ folder if it exists.Galbanum wrote:
oh... no this is not right. Just delete the "Factory" folder. That should not be there.
...and this bring up an issue. We forgot about that folder being there in 1.0.0. In one of the intermediate steps a few months ago, we reorganized this to get rid of the factory folder level to move to this three tier system:
I haven't been using the B2 home folder for my presets (I don't use many; usually tailor the effects in project), but I did have one preset in my user folder when I installed the new beta: it got wiped out with the new install. Fortunately I had a backup. You might want to take a look at that.Galbanum wrote:incidentally the installers should preserve all user presets, user sub-folders, and preset expansions... so you should never have to reinstall these in the future...
B2 can be a real CPU monster, and it's a single-core processor, so your 2.26 GHz won't get you very far with any oversampling on. If I were you I'd keep the oversampling for offline processing on that processor. For comparison, on a Sandy Bridge 3.1 GHz the 4C xPoll. preset at 2X oversampling costs about 46% of a core and at 4X, 90%.Simon Morrison wrote:Truly wonderful algorithms and sound quality!
The CPU usage is pretty heavy on my setup: 30-90% CPU for one instance.
• Logic Pro X 10.0.1
• Mac OS X 10.8.4
• Mac Pro 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
• NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512 MB
• 8 GB RAM
• 44.1 kHz
• 1 Stereo Track
• 2x Oversampling
• Single Engine: 30% CPU
• Dual Engine: 50% CPU
• Four Channel 4C Cross Pollenization 1-6: 90% CPU!!!
Is this expected behavior?

Andrew, I have the crash log from apple and the saved Live project if needed.
As I'm writing this I realize I overwrote the previous beta, so the plan is to uninstall B2 completely and start again. I'll report back if it works.

Well I got further with the clean install, but still crashing (again I have the reports and can email them to you). I was able to enter the serial, but upon receiving my message of being a being of infinite wisdom, Live and B2 crashed.
I sent an email.Galbanum wrote:elxsound wrote:

yes send reports of course...
is this an old project that has other things in it? Does it have Aether or Breeze in it?
Does the issue happen in a new project with only B2 in it?
