Can I make my kick sound ultra-hyper-mega-phat by using 20 compressors in a row?

Isn't it fairly trivial to make a click/impulse in a wave editor or synth, sample it, and use that? That would certainly save on CPU and time.

The OP's solution was extremely complex/convoluted (IMHO), for something otherwise very simple to achieve.
Kudos for the enthusiasm though.

I reckon he means bouncing the kick, and just playing it back as a sample-- not running the compressor.Beatstruggles wrote:Hey camsr, camsr wrote:If you EQ it afterwards, it sounds more natural. Also, you can save CPU power for the project by recording (in FL) or freezing the mixer track and switching off the effects.
Could you elaborate on the "feezing the mixer track" -- This is new to me!
Thank-you for your feedback!

Very useful tips! Not my kind of EDM, but the techniques can be very handy for certain situations and even other kinds of "clicks".
Thanks for the video!

for the click, you would be better using the click of the 707 kick. Sounds the best

Good job mate, but when you low pass or high pass something, remamber not to cut the fundamental frequencies! hope this was helpful...Beatstruggles wrote:Hey everyone,

Here's a little trick that not only works for house/electro kicks.
This also works great towards hip-hop drums (Just turn down the volume of the click, and blend in the volume to taste).
