Maybe it's just my setup, but audio rate modulations are noisy.
For example, from the init sound:
1. Set OSC1 WT Mix to a sine (100%)
2. In the mod matrix map OSC1 to OSC1 CtrlB
3. Increase the mod amount (and I hear a lot of audio popping).
Best regards,
Gino

Spire needs some more gain too...
Depending on Osc settings and Filter settings, I found it easy to have a low output volume with 1 osc sounds. That is with Osc turned up full and global volume turned up full.

I had the same problem while doing FM or AM, had to use very precises values to get rid of artifacts but maybe I'm just doing it wrong so I'm not sure. But when I do similar patching in Sytrus (for FM) the sound remain more pure... So I'm not sure if it is a bug or Spire engine, and I'm afraid that if it is "fixed" the presets will change

I agree with that too ! Some patches could never reach high volume, while others (with unison and 4 oscs) can be very loud. For the loudest it is easy to put gain down, but I have to put a gainer after Spire for the quieter ones. Also cranking the multi band compressor up can do a drastic gain reduction and that would be nice to compensate for this, for now I always use small amounts because of this problem ^^pdxindy wrote:Spire needs some more gain too...

Because the audio rate modulation is set to the such amount, as many others synth do. There are just a few synths that can modulate to really high rates without any pops and crackles, like U-he Ace, Tone2 ElectraX (not sure 100% about this one)Gino Cortesi wrote:Maybe it's just my setup, but audio rate modulations are noisy.

As for FM, yeah, most of the synths are noisy to a different extent. It's up to developer to set a specific rates to it.

It was worked on, although now i checked some of supersaw type patches against Massive on my oldie C2Q Q9400, it consumes around same ammount of CPU, impressive! ....but when there are more instances Spire quickly puts down the CPU. Im may be wrong but Spire has problems with Multicore support?HcDoom wrote:Is CPU consumption still high or devs are working on it?

The new Banks sound pretty nice, but I still think that this synth is more powerful than the current presets demonstrate. Looking forward to some exceptional patch designers to open Spire up and show what she is really capable of.
