Spire is one hell of the synth and I'm not too worried about the few bugs mentioned here and there.
The devs really want to make it a success (and IMO, it already is) and they will all be sorted out in due time.

What Karten just said........

Totally agreed guys, Reveal Sound developers have been incredibly responsive both on this thread and via email. I managed to reproduce the problem again now (although still am unsure what the trigger is) and sent the guys details via email.

Hopefully we can help the guys iron out the kinks since this synth is without doubt my favourite now. I'm absolutely dying to get the 1.0 version with CPU optimisations too :)

Spire is finally working on my machine (WIN 8 64 bit; Ableton Live 9 64 bit). It seems Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package 64bit was missing. They should add it to the installer ...

This is it, I feel the same. I mean, I've yet to see other devs working on stuff so quickly. And in fairness as well, it's still not in it's full release state.

So, you are basically getting it for a bargain price, but yet, you get a 97% working synth.

And it's still getting better and better all the time. That's a very good deal in my book! :)
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Nice work, well done!

I meant to write "of a synth" as what I wrote doesn't make sense. But you got the point.

What impresses me the most is that the devs don't waste their time discussing things here. They are busy making Spire one of the top VAs and only pop up to announce new versions.
Besides, most of the feature requests were accepted and implemented.
I really hope they get the success they deserve and for a first product, it's really impressive.

it's a great sounding synth, definitely. the cpu issues on my mac (running in logic X), are significant tho. adding one pad from spire created havoc with a track last night...not the first time.

so...definitely looking forward to fixes. then this will be an exceptional synth..!

did you try it? or just read about it?
I listened to a demo of Spire on YouTube and although it does sound tasty, the presets did seem to be techno/dubstep oriented.

I'll have to try the demo....not a big deal really,as I am in no rush to get it,as I have been pretty busy with TubeOhm's Gamma-Ray,Alpha-Ray & T-FM synths...along with Synthmaster and I just downloaded HyperSynth's Oresus.

All this being said,it might be a bit redundant, for me to add Spire to my arsenal...

the thing though, is if you are eventually going to get it, pricewise now is the time to do so....
which is what I did.

I think it must be the Mac version or something... I have the demo and I like it, but it kills my cpu... Diva has the multi-core option which makes that sort of high cpu use workable.

Spire (x86) dll on my studio PC. Every other instruments working fine.
(Win XP, Cubase, FL, even some little VST host)
Mistery solved!
From now on i can have a fully working Spire installed on my studio PC! :D

Before my host could not see the Spire: 2 dll was missing from my PC:
msvcp100.dll
msvcr100.dll

Maybe a little text file should go in to the installer?

Cheers, :)

Gosh people, to make all the plugins work without any problems on Windows you have to install MS Visual C++ runtimes 2005, 2008 and lately 2010. That's one of the first things I do on every Windows installation. They are all readily available on MS website for download.

When plugins come with VC++ runtimes, they can overwrite the newer version that you downloaded and installed with the older version, so it is not a good idea for plugins to come with these runtimes. It is up to you to take care of these, and up to developer to tell you which VC++ runtimes are needed for the plugins to work properly. Unfortunately, heaps of developers don't tell you that.

Also it would be lovely if the installer remembers the installed location :clown:
