I got a bit of itunes money for my birthday and thought i'd get an ipad controller app for ableton.. Dont have quite enough for lemur and i don't really want to dick around too much setting it up with what i'm doing.. Just launch clips, push record (when i'm recording vox etc at a distance from the laptop) and have a bit of fun with arrangements and a bit of jamming..probably not live performance.
touchable is looking good but i read somewhere about issues with live9??and also i see mention of a new version in the works.. Anyone with some advice? What to do? Other options? Users?

If you can wait, it seems that touchable v2 is getting closer to release. After reading this thread I stumbled on their twitter feed which says it's in beta as of the beginning of August. Link: https://twitter.com/touchAbleApp/status ... 6962662401
Toucahble (v1) was by far the easiest to use in Live 8. I have not used it with live 9, but hopefully someone can jump in, since I thought I read that it should continue to work for transport controls and clip/scene launching.
I have Lemur but was disappointed with LC2. I don't find it as easy or as intuitive as Touchable. LC2, I will need to sit down and either watch a video or read the manual. Touchable was ready to go on launch. Maybe others have had a different experience with LC2 (if so I'd like to hear).
Really, what I want is something more simple like transport control, scene clip launch, track controls, automation and live devices controls. All of that was done easily in L8, so I'm hoping v2 does the same in L9.

Ahh. I jumped in and grabbed touchable anyway.. Boring sunday here
It works well and seems to do all i need. Had to dick around with the ad-hoc network tho , a problem with ios6 from what i read.. Got it going in the end tho. I guess maybe v2 will have wav waveform view, Arrangement window and midi editing perhaps.. Anyway if it comes out in the next week maybe i'll beg the dev for a voucher cause i only just bought it (if it is a separate product)

Well, hopefully what they said in the original teaser (back in May) will still be true. They said it would be a free upgrade for current users....shanecgriffo wrote:Ahh. I jumped in and grabbed touchable anyway.. Boring sunday here

That way however - there is no secondary install possible on a single device..
additional however: touchAble 2 is already the most stable and performant version of touchAble we've made so far.. it is built from the ground up with stability and reliability in mind. we even rebuilt the server to ensure a packetloss-free connection between app and computer. There will still be a warning prior to the upgrade that your experience might change.. but as far as we can see now - it will be for the better in all departments - including stability!

Yes i actually just received a reply from them to that effect (i'd sent an email asking if i should hold off buying current edition) V2 will be free to current customers and they expect it out in the next few weeks!

Nice! Losing some of the functionality when upgrading to L9, was disappointing as I had just got it integrated into my workflows. This will be great to get it back!shanecgriffo wrote:Yes i actually just received a reply from them to that effect (i'd sent an email asking if i should hold off buying current edition) V2 will be free to current customers and they expect it out in the next few weeks!
