When it does come out, watch all the naysayers join the bandwagon. Just saying, this is an alternative to alot of daws and the workflow looks just great. They may not have been on the right schedule for our wishes, but I guarantee when it comes out, the same people dissing will be the same people wanting some bitwig in their life.
Or else why the f**k would you keep revisiting the threads? Exactly

I only found out of Bitwig's existence a few days ago,but I am already beginning to feel the angst of the waiting & yearning...especially since I have already shit-canned Sonar,& I'm not even done making payments on the f**king software yet!trusampler wrote:When it does come out, watch all the naysayers join the bandwagon. Yeah..I only will be paying off a total of $100,but even this amount is a tragic waste of money, being that Sonar is so utterly useless.
I'm not 100% confident that Bitwig will deliver everything it advertises, but I would never scoff at this company, because it looks more promising than just about anything else that's been released in recent years.
Studio One still serves me very well for my audio needs, but the prospect of finally having a rock solid DAW(with the inclusion of video support),is something I thought I would never see and it looks like there is a distinct possibility of it finally happening.
I take this prolonged beta testing period as a good sign, because it will probably be more stable upon it's initial release, than anything else that preceded it.

@naysayers: Not I. I was dreaming about bitwig like 1 1/2 ago. I've SO moved on. If it was 50 bucks I might demo it. But I'm not getting another 499 host. What's the point?

hibidy wrote:That sucks. I'm sitting here playing around in live most of the day, no crashes, no problems. It wasn't that long ago that I was mucking around with hosts trying to find one that would work. I don't know what sonar does great for some and not for others or why live works mostly great for me and shit for others. I just have not clue. It's likely not user error too often though because on this SAME computer I can get various things to go right or wrong dependingEchoes in the Attic wrote:Yeah I can too. As an Ableton user though, it's a question of dealing with crashes, avoiding latency, enjoying the sound of devices etc. (See previous post regarding enjoyable experience vs. being able to do something).hibidy wrote:It's just that I can do that right now. No waiting, and those sounds are nothing short of generic. I know, I know.
Live is solid for me... I leave the app running for days
I was rather interested in Bitwig when it was first announced. My interest does not depend on how long it takes or what videos Bitwig makes. I think the people who say Bitwig is losing customers because they don't make more announcements or videos are mostly wrong. People will buy it or not depending on how good it is, not the PR prior to shipping.
What made me forget about Bitwig is that Live 9 came out, and I purchased a Push. Push is freakin awesome with Live. It is so much fun and very productive.

That's how I play it, too. If it's COOL it's cool, if it SUCKS, it sucks.pdxindy wrote:... My interest does not depend on how long it takes or what videos Bitwig makes. Work~Flow, flexibility, and stability are my priorities. Currently, Live also works for me for the most part. I do (however) really like what I have seen of Bitwig, thus far.
Definitely looks promising.
I'll wait and see, but it would have to be REALLY cool, for me to make another $400.00+ "investment" in a "host" that may not work as advertised.

Studio One here works wonderfully...why would I want something that could very well end up being D.O.A.?
Or....vapourware....

Upgrade from Live 8 Standard to Live 9 Suite this year and it works nicely (even the auto-update works here).
Also got Reaper 4 for certain cases. No need for another DAW here, especially bot in the higher price range.
When seeing some problems others have with their DAWs i often found "why is this so simple in Ableton Live?".
I have tested (and testing again from time to time) demos of several major DAWs (where available) and in some of them i had problems doing even simple things...

Bitwig being $500 is pure speculation, because the only pricing I've seen, was some rumors flying around about it being anywhere from 250 euros to $470(USD)...but completly unsubstantiated conjecture started by some silly YouTubers.hibidy wrote:Really?rockstar_not wrote:Silly me, I thought there was a new video. At no time, did the Bitwig staff ever mention price, because they haven't determined a price and it would be premature to do so.
If Bitwig turns out to deliver everything it promises,I think $500 would be a fair price.
I'm in love with the design, color scheme, layout and feature set of Bitwig and there is still the matter of me resolving my video needs,so I'm holding out for Bitwig, regardless of how long it takes.

Ableton created Bitwig to distract people so they could finish 9 and Push. Now they don't know how to stop the joke.
