I started with cool edit pro then graduated(although not willingly) to the Adobe series of "Audition 1, 1.5, 2 and 3. Really did not want all the features just something that would continue to function in the ever evolving windows operating system. I need only 2 channels I only use 2 microphones and either dat or cassette or digital card and loved my Reverb 4080L along with typical editing features for normalization, amplify, cut etc. What is a decent editing program that would work on win 8 and use the reverb 4080L or a newer equivalent?
I really do not want to "rent" the newest Adobe Audition css for $600 a year. I think it is also laden with confusing features. I do not have a problem with purchasing updated sonic timeworks stuff as necessary, just am not interested in a massive program like Adobe seems to design to do everything. If it works, they can make it complicated enough so it no longer works or at least so you cannot understand it well enough to make it work.
editing program for windows 8 that likes the reverb 4080L dx plugin

I tend to use Audacity for basic stuff. It works pretty well.

I downloaded Audacity but don't know how to gear it to load reverb 480 l or the presets Will it allow previews of the reverb while adjusting? I think I was able to do that with the 'direct x' of truverb. I found my installation and sn for delay and ran the install but do not know where in Audiacity it lets loading of directx effects. how do I get a "skin" of a reverb program into audiacity?? Also I think win 8 64 bit wont launch the setup for reverb. Are there any reverb skins that work with win 8 and audiacity. I loved trueverbxybre wrote:I tend to use Audacity for basic stuff.
