This
... and it would be nice if the installer would fetch the default vst plug-in path from the registry on Windows (if available), to provide the correct installation path :)

32Bit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Wow6432Node \ VST \ VSTPluginsPath

64Bit:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ VST \ VSTPluginsPath

I'd say it's the other way round, 4damind. First one is 64bit path and the second one is the 32bit VST path.

Anyway, more developers should use it, yes. :)

Yeah, it looks a bit weird with this Wow6432Node stuff.
Wow64 is the subsystem on a 64Bit Windows to run 32Bit applications (Windows-On-Windows 64-bit). The registry node "Wow6432Node" is where Wow64 stores 32Bit specific settings, so it's also the right place for the 32Bit VST path.

Ah too bad, not quite as much of a deal as I anticipated... €13.11 tax is added in the cart for a total of €82.11 instead of €69 :(

Wow the installer of Spire is really crap. My default vst-folder is c:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit\ (whyever Native Instruments Komplete 8 installs 32bit plugins into a 64bit program directory). When installing into this dir the file is actually located at c:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 32 bit\. This shit installer just messes things up. Same shit happens with the installer of D16 Lush101 and D16 Decimort... This just sucks.

Since I own Massive & Z3TA+2 I don't really see the need for buying spire. I think my bases that spire would have covered are well covered with both of those other synthesizers!

I found Spire to be quite a bit different to those two (which I also have). Spire is more in the Virus/Sylenth fat/trancey sound. If you haven't already done so I would recommend you checking out the demo. I mainly used Spire for this track I did which Hernan Catteneo just opened his radio show with - will give you a feel for the sound -

All great plug ins which I own, how ever Spire has a certain "characteristic sound", that neither of those plug ins have. Same with Sylenth, these synths just have that sound that can cut through a mix. I tend to use a different synth for ever sound to really add depth to my music.

Any who Spire uses way to much cpu :( By far the most out of all my tested vsts, surprisingly z3ta did the best.

I don't have Spire, but I did just come across this and I was impressed. The lead isn't quite right, but it overall it sounds great.

I read all the 78 pages! :phew:
I demo "The Thing" and...
CPU fair,
Sound Superb,
Making your own presets very inviting and addictive,
Not a substitute to Sylenth1 but a great alternative, IMO
I can't actually say that I can have this one covered since it sound to me quite on its own. Again IMO.

Conclusion.

Got it.

Looking forward to some of our KVR masters designers for more presets due to my very limited designer skills

There is for sure some overlap but this also true with most of the other VAs.
But there is always a small difference. Spire has eg. this Virus TI emulated filter type you will not find in Massive. Spire is a lot easier to use (= you will get quicker results). Spire has unison per oscillator and some special unison modes which allows completely different sounds you cannot create with Massive.
Same with Z3TA... it's an old "waveshaping" synth with some refresh by Cakewalk. Not so easy to understand GUI, some different options how to manipulate the waveform (folding, warping,...) and you can load own waves.

factory2.sbf is a pretty amazing showcase. If that's not gonna blow your Tarnce / EDM producer away then I don't know what will.

"SQ No Good V", "SQ Blade Dev" ... - LOL Great Job :)

I'm working already on factory patches, almost ready so stay tuned.

I was exploring the warmer, more classical side of Spire.
I was curious what more can do besides the obvious EDM, and i can say:
very impressive!

Cheers,
Joseph
