Nuance, The Compact Sampler from New Sonic Arts

i use it a lot, for simpler things (than using the exs24). one of my favorite things is to sometimes write a part with one sample, then try something entirely different (with the same midi part). impossible with logic's sampler, and easy with nuance...

Ok noted! But just to make sure we are on the same page, the loop is fully real-time modulatable by all modulation sources, so in terms of creativity I think it's already pretty comprehensive. But I defintely agree workflow could be improved if mouse editis were applied immediately, without needing to retrigger. It's on the FR listanaloguesamples909 wrote:Cool I like this sampler but real time update is where things get really creative...and also a handle for the crossfade looping...would like to pick this up if it did that...its a great replacement for simpler and with a nice browser and more features...newsonicarts wrote:
but you are right about the non-realtime updating of the start/end points, makes sense and noted!

thanks - Ill look into using the LFO/Env. The thing about dragging is its a really quick creative way to find points...but I like how you have enabled to move both loop points together so its just the real time update...also the waveform xfade control a possibility?newsonicarts wrote:Ok noted! Interesting... That's the one thing I missed about Ableton was 'simpler'.
Might pick this up.

Loop is a target in the Modulation Matrix. So for example, if you want to close and open the loop with the mod wheel, add a slot to the matrix and set CC1 as the source and Loop as the destination. Hope that helps!emerable wrote:Could you explain how loop modulation is done?newsonicarts wrote: and this now includes loop modulation, as well as a few other new modulation targets.

Theoretically possible, but it's nothing planned at the moment...zyguli wrote:Are there any chances to see loopable multipoint envelopes?

Actually yes this is something planned, hopefully for later this year, although I have to make the usual disclaimer to say anything can change and I can't guarantee it will happen until it actually happens.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Are you guys going to making mac VSTs?

I bought this, and I'm very pleased with it... I really like the filters. Good job!

Any news on this feature development? Also, would think about adding a delay to the FX section at some point?newsonicarts wrote:Well, yeshcv242 wrote:i like it but i find the fact that every zone has to use the same envelope settings or filter settings a no go. the same goes for reverse mode. if i have a program with multi samples and i select reverse, not only the selected zone gets reversed but all the other zones also. it doesnt make much sense. it seems it was designed to use only one sample / zone and not for multisamples / various zones.![]()
Nuance is a single-instrument sampler. Its not a drum sampler or a multi-instrument sampler (yet...)

This is tricky to answer right now for reasons I cant fully disclose at the moment. Right now, I can say that yes, there will be a solution to this use-case (using Nuance for drums, multiple outs etc) in the near future, but probably not in the way you expect, and I can tell you now it wont be a free update. Same statement pretty much applies for adding delay FX too...kev2525 wrote:Any news on this feature development? Also, would think about adding a delay to the FX section at some point?
Sorry to have to be purposely vague at this point, but just wait a couple months and I think all will be clear and make sense. Trust me, its going to be cool
