It was explained by Markus Feil (the Tone2 founder and developer), that they coding some data in to the audio phase (a customer id or something). So this gives some idea how it could work.

I have not heard of a sample library using watermarking but IMO this can only work if it needs some plug-in to use this samples so the plug-in can watermark the audio stream.

Thanks. On page 5 someone quoted Tone2 as saying: "Gladiator's watermarking does not steal or add frequency bands. The watermark is encoded to the phase of the signal."

I don't really know what that means, but it does seem as if something is added to the audio...

Tone2 soundsets are watermarked too.

Those patch files could not be involved with the audio output. I guess it's just that Tone2 could find out the original owner of the soundset if he illegally redistributes it.

audio phase watermark is possible but the moment you process fx and usual treatment to your tone2 sound their goes their audio phase watermark.

i dunno if and how they evulate the robustness against signal processing but
sure it can't be without "any" effect on the watermark.

also sure is that it dont harm the audio quality.

maybe the technique of watermarking is nowdays on another level and you cant destroy the watermark in the audio phase, i dunno. :)

I'm pretty sure audio watermarking uses the phase of the harmonics in the treble region, where the ear is completely indifferent to phase and individual harmonics mush together. I also presume the patterns they use are generated in such a way that certain phase shifts do not render them unreadable, but that's just conjecture on my part.

WinHex to find strings of 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or more characters.

"A" doesn't explain very much.

"Ad", doesn't either.

Neither does "Ado".

We start to get warmer with "Adob". But no cigar.

"Adobe", and we have the money shot.

WinHex is reasonably priced and has many more features - disk cloning being one of them.

But maybe we have the definition of 'watermarks' at cross purposes.

How else would one make the mythical watermark, but to bury it in the ones and zeros?

:-)

Spitfire Audio , Project SAM, just one example and alot other developer does watermarking their Librarys , but not the samples they are emmbedded in the nki Instrument Files , and the developer say that these watermarking into the nki files are also robust aginst resaving , manipulating etc. etc. , don't know how it works

Apparently, FX wont hide all watermarks, and some watermarks can be kept even when transfering audio over radio waves?

Check that link, they have a 'whos using it' link (at the bottom). Im sure its not every company, because they may not want you to know, but, there is a list. A lot of interesting information, and audio examples too.

They say its inaudible, but with some stuff, on some hardware, you will be able to hear it.

Aah! Are this NKI files encrypted? Anyway, it would make sense to use such "compound" files for such stuff.

I believe that's a reference to the waveforms....

I watermark my KVR posts.

It's undetectable and copyrights my work.
