There is an Unofficial Bitwig Studio forum at Bitwig Beats http://www.bitwigbeats.com/ which might also increase communication channels.

But surely, an Official Bitwig Studio Forum is a must have if they want to do things the proper/professional way.

So far there is no official Bitwig Studio Forum. We shall see what happens.

Cheers,

Why should there be an official forum right now?Product forums are for products that are currently available..wouldn't you agree?

If you need to contact them,do it via their website or their Facebook page.Seriously, you are not going to get answers to your questions any faster or receive any more info than what has already been made available,if Bitwig had an official forum right now....because they're very busy right now.

I don't think they will have a public beta. It's a internal beta, the same how it works with most of the major DAWs. IMO this works also better for such a complex DAW to give it only some experienced users and fix/improve things before making the software public. There is often the problem that people saying "wow, what a crap DAW this and that is not working" and they forget that's a beta version... this could be a bad start for a new product and so IMO a "closed" beta is better.

Release is planned Afaik this year, so I don't think we really need a beta for a few month?

Observation:

1. People wait for cool new product or product release, anticipating that it will solve all of their musical issues and they will find true bliss.

2. People get cool new product and are excited. Developers of cool new product are roaring to interact, all is well in the universe... for about two months.

3. People find that they're still not fully happy and begin to criticize cool new product in just about every way imaginable. They then "go back" to cool old product.

4. Users, being generally bored, start looking for ways to criticize the developers of cool new product, like with them not directly answering every question on the forum.

5. Rinse and repeat the cycle on every cool new product or cool old product new release.

See Tracktion as a recent case study.

That's not the issue. Things may take time to develop, but when you tell the world that you're "beta testing" you also tell potential customers that a final release isn't years away.

Right. Not sure why people keep missing that. Nobody is criticizing the product nor the ambition of the company, nor the developers. We're poking harmless fun at what was a public announcement of "soon" almost two years ago, and nothing else.

We all wish Bitwig well and we all expect it to be a really nice product but they invited the ribbing by announcing a beta starting so long ago and attending multiple industry trade shows and still not having a product to deliver.

They should have just waited to talk about it and these cat threads wouldn't even exist.

Exactly. That is where the issue lies. It's been YEARS since the first time I heard about bitwig. It's been over a year and a half since they put up the "in beta" on their site, right? I dunno, it's all been so long I can't even remember but regardless it's been a long time.

They deserve all the ribbing they get.

I think their problem was calling it beta. They should have said it was a private alpha testing stage..would make sense since they've been still developing much of the functionality. Then people wouldn't be so (rightfully) impatient with it after all thus time.
