No, better make that 157

Why is 144 biblical by the way?
I just did a quick count including August and that's where the additional thirty came from. It's something that seems to come with my semi-retirement. :D

144 is a biblical number, usually even known to atheists...

Yeah, it's 126 tomorrow, and if it comes sooner, than all the better, but I won't hold IKM to any sooner, since all they've said is 'by the end of this year'.

OK I'll sidestep the biblical stuff because even I don't want to see this thread HPC'd :)

I admit I get a bit tired of the dead horse beating but it really isn't dead yet so we should probably carry on as usual around here... However, there was some talk about aligning with end of year/holiday sales periods but I hope not to jinx anything. If it was ready later than a known period of good sales I'd still hope we'd get it out (or not be late at all) so I think we'll be good either way. People here are definitely excited about it.

Oops and I meant to post this explanation of some crabbiness earlier:

I'll see what and when I can disclose with regard to the "other than 64-bit" part and I'm sure I'll be teasing plenty of it as soon as I can.

Cyber Monday would be a good target :)

I don't really think music software is bought very much as x-mas pressies, so from a sales point of view, if I where to release a new plugin I would try to keep the launch away from December, as most users then will have their money tied to buying gifts for others.

I believe 'some talk' only when it happens and not a moment before.

@BBFG:

+1000000 absolutely.

I heard many driver updates anounced that never came. So I will not believe ANY software companies update anouncements untill I see the product.

And if you use your common sense, who believes that Sampletank could fight Kontakt? Does the manager of IK believe in that? I doubt it.

Post

Gawd damn IKM! Release 3.0 already! 2.5 obviously stopped working!!!

Oh, I have some faith in IK atm in delivering the update by the end of this year, because they have been quite adamant about it. How quick they do it before that can only be conjecture at this point. And conjecture can disappoint.

As far as 'fighting' Kontakt, I don't feel they're trying to do that. It seems to me they're just trying to do their thing and keep their customers thriving in it.

It's quite possible that it's not the plugin that's holding things up but producing the sample libraries which as we all know is a very time consuming process......Although I'd wager a bet that a lot of people would pay for the 64 bit (and gui ?) upgrade alone with no additional sample content.

But anyway Peter it should be encouraging to IK that there is so much interest in ST3. It means people love the product and can't wait to see what's next. Who was it that said the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about ? :)

I'm eager to call the powerful on their claims, but...

OT: I'm still 32 bit. I'd have to give up too much to switch to my processor's 64 bit mode. I read about how others are missing their old software and I wonder why they switched to 64 bit.

Bingo! Though since we've already waited the last 3 years since they took pics and posted them on facebook of the making of sampletank 3, I guess we can wait a couple more months of 2013 for some new sounds.
INTERFACE: RME ADI-2/4 Pro/Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core/BAE 1073 MPF Dual/Heritage Audio Successor+SYMPH EQ
SYNTHS: Arturia Polybrute 12/Roland Jupiter X + Juno X/Yamaha Montage M/Yamaha KX88/Softsynths + Samplers
PEDALS: Chase Bliss Mood MK II

My only question is will the promised 64 bit free player be launched alongside the paid new version, or will we have to wait longer for the free player?

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I wonder what the exciting new product announcement in Berlin will be next month?

Mmm... they have products for mixers, things for guitarists/bassists, tools for voice, instruments for keyboard players, even some dj gears... I think their line just lacks something for drummers... I wonder if they are going to release some cheap triggers or pads to interface with iPhone/iPad! :P

I'm joking, I have no clue but I hope they'll release SampleTank3 because it's very important for 64 bit compatibility.
