Oh, I do speak to you. But you didn't have something to reply to.
Glad you like me pointing out the... er... (sometimes not so) obvious. I only forward what I learned.

Thanks fellas.
That cleared a lot of stuff up.
I guess I'll just start off with the basic setup and take it from there.
Well worth the few bucks to get going.
This was a great freebie so I feel this is just a donation.
cheers.

Interesting this. I remember looking at the last version and thinking it was good... but I forgot why I passed on it. Maybe it was the time I was looking at the Kemper. I do know that the best sounding hardware solution I found was the Two Notes Torpedo hardware TORPEDO VB-101 being fed by a real tube head of some sort. Because the TORPEDO VB-101 is already $2k and I'd probably want to sink another $1k into a tube head (I don't own one) it was also the priciest solution with the AxeFx as runner up in terms of price and the Kemper Amp Profiler as the cheapest. I wonder how this plug-in compares to the cab/mic simulation stage in the TORPEDO VB-101.hibidy wrote:Started this thread since there are so many people discussing it. Gotta say it's pretty good.

Glad I've got the "free" version with my 5 pack of bought cabinets
I think I found another bug. It's not saving "linked" in studio one? I'll have to double check later. Would LOVE a HP filter, I don't think that is going to happen. I'm so blind I couldn't read that was "exciter" until I resized the GUI (yep, even on my 27", sucks to get old)

Oh, I hear you on the eyes thing. I was doing OK because my eyes have opposite problems so while I could never see correctly with both eyes, one was always pretty good with my prescription. Then my eye doctor was all, "These are very wrong." I tried progressives and they made me want to barf so now I just wear my reading glasses when in the studio which helps a ton. Still, a good UI shouldn't use super tiny fonts anyway.hibidy wrote:

I'd say that the VB-101 is great for live use, but if you've already got a computer, go for the WoS III plugin and get a good loadbox for the tube amp. (The Rivera RockCrusher seems to be one of the best ones.) Then just run the effects send out from the head into your interface and add the power amp and cabinet through WoS.zerocrossing wrote:Interesting this. Right now I'm getting great sounds doing something similar using Revalver's power amp sims and free cabs, but I'll probably try WoS III out one of these days just because. The fact that he dropped iLok put it back on my want list.

Thanks for the kind words
I have to tell also that we plan to release soon a new hardware product, the Torpedo Reload, which is a reactive-active attenuator, a multi-impedance loadbox, a DI and a re-amping box. Moreover, a special version of the Torpedo WOS III plug-in will be bundled with it.
http://www.two-notes.com/en/hardware/torpedo-reload/
We will give you more information about it when the product will be ready for release (asap)

I heard new cabinets with new mics are coming - does that mean that old cabinets will have those new mics as well? (and will new cabinets have old mics?)Wolfen666 wrote:Thanks for the kind wordsI have to tell also that we plan to release soon a new hardware product, the Torpedo Reload, which is a reactive-active attenuator, a multi-impedance loadbox, a DI and a re-amping box. Right, that does sound like a good set up, but I've already gone down the Kemper route and I love the sound and almost as importantly, I love that it's more or less a one-stop-shopping experience. (I also incorporate a Zvex Fuzz Factory before it and Line6 HD500 in it's effects sends) I love the ability to just create a preset and have it there-at-the-ready as needed with as few pedal pushes as possible.Dominus wrote:I'd say that the VB-101 is great for live use, but if you've already got a computer, go for the WoS III plugin and get a good loadbox for the tube amp. I do, however, foresee a time when I go totally back ITB, but by then I bet my hearing ability will have deteriorated and Amplitube's quality (which I already think is pretty damn good) will have increased to a point where they meet.

Dear all,
thank you Hibidy for creating this thread, I'll try to stay around to answer your questions. You may know we have an official forum and a support Help Desk with a knowledge base that can help in case of urgent needs.
I would like to add a few comments on what was written before:
- it is possible to load any kind or IR in .wav or .aiff format in WoS III, like in any of our products. BUT the Overload, Variphi and Miking parameters won't be available as they are proprietary to the Torpedo technology.
- You can create an tweak your own IRs using Torpedo BlendIR (which is still a beta but so far there are not much bugs): http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 5&t=135479. The file you can create (.tur format) embed the overload information, so I recommend to set your system at high volume for the capture, so you can capture the subtle distortion coming from the cabinet.
- Overload and Variphi parameters are very powerful, but they must be used cautiously, with your ears wide open. They are far from a 0 or 1 parameter. I always recommend to let Overload below 20% (unless you really love distortion) and Variphi should be tweeked with a distorted incoming signal so you can hear the phase cancellation effect. If you want to get that "moving the air" sound, it is not at all about dynamics, simply play with the Overload on a distorted signal and you will feel it.
- The power amp section is not a convolution processor, it is based on real circuit topologies and one should start it with Depth and Presence to max value, low volume, then increase the volume and lower Depth and Presence to the desired amount.
- You can use WoS III on any kind of sound track, I recommend trying it on drums with a simple stereo configuration of the plugin. The Compressor is very effective, sometimes too much for guitar (but it has to work on bass as well), but works well on drums. You can bypass the miking section if you want to keep a clean signal, adding the power amp section can bring your drum track to a new universe.
I use WoS III on synths as well, to warm up and shape the tone.
- New cabinets and new microphones are coming, but this update requires an update of ALL the Two Notes product, so it takes (too much) time. You won't be able to have new microphones on the "old" cabinets, but you will have new cabinets with a different set of microphones. I can't give a release date, but it should be september.
- The Beta is almost finished on WoS III, we release a new Beta this week that will fix most of the issues some of you already encountered.
Congratulation if you were able to read this message entirely, I will try to monitor the subject to give some help if needed.

We had some issue with Reaper's project presets that could cause crashes (fixed) and we changed a little the loading strategy (it still takes some time, but way less on all our test configurations).
Best regards.

This was the info I needed. Thanks.nonconforme wrote: - it is possible to load any kind or IR in .wav or .aiff format in WoS III, like in any of our products. BUT the Overload, Variphi and Miking parameters won't be available as they are proprietary to the Torpedo technology.

Though one Q regarding BlendIR:
Let's say I convert an IR from (say) GodsCab to .tur, with the overload information (as it is created with specific algos), am I forced to use the microphones in WoS III then?
Because then we'd do something double, and that's not really a good thing IMO.
Else, I'll try to abuse this thing on regular channel. I'm currently working on a track for a competition, and this might definitely come in handy.
