Pretty curious to know who others build tracks? I'm sort of getting exhausted using maschine and trying to chop samples. Can i go on youtube find sounds like whatever and chop those? Is that bad? illegal?
Down the road I'm hoping to get a record label started and get a business loan. If that ever came about I'd be looking at trying to get some neat gear. Are those big studio mixer boards really still used nowadays? Analog, tape?
back to the now.....
Where should I go from here to make music? I mean I only have Maschine for a controller at the moment so I'm limited. Should I try N learn fl studio or just stick inside maschine for now?

Oh, I wouldn't know, I guess I'm old-fashioned. I make music using things that are called "instruments", for which you need skill acquired through practice. This takes time, effort, and patience, but guess what? At the end, you can make your own "loops" and "samples". Why, you might not even need second-hand "loops" or "samples" at all! Hard to imagine, but it's true, I swear. Many people have done it.

If you are using maschine, why not load up some nice VSTi's into it? You don't have to stick to using only static samples. And although you may feel that your controller is limited, I'm pretty sure you could still get lots more out of it than you realize. Just keep at it and avoid getting distracted in GAS, better to master one tool/environment well than to just dabble around with many IMO.

You could learn one of the 800 VSTi's you have

Well, you could actually stop thinking the choice of tools is the important bit, and actually work at making music for a bit.royaldeadman wrote:Where should I go from here to make music?
An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

It took me awhile to figure that one out when I started too...but really now.

yes, I think it's time for the ASPCA to get involved here. animal abuse is just wrong.normal wrote:perhaps you should save some of that money ,

does mentioning euthanasia makes me a bad person? really, it's more humane for all involved sometimes, albeit a difficult choice.

u got maschine, u got massive.... instead of choping samples what will sound bad(cause in maschine sample editor u never cut wave in perfect center - there will be click at start and at end), break into massive.. its easy.... use easy logic and set parameters in right order.... dont forget(cause mastering of massive will take minimal month - best synth ever) make frequently default presets.... i can help you a little more.... when mastering massive(iam not master right now:DD) take feedback to post amp/pan, set feedbacks insert to parabol and second insert will be too last in a row.... simpliest setted massive:))

(If I understand you correctly), I advice you to build some muscles first. When you are ready, learn how to use a Jackhammer (or road drill). Chopping is not enough skill to build roads in my humble opinion.royaldeadman wrote:Pretty curious to know who others build tracks?
