Yep, not my cup of tea either. It's not just the thinner, more electro sound. From the 2 tracks I've heard so far I'm not even fond of the actual song structures and melodies. Some people will love it. At the end of the day hope the album does well.

V0RT3X: I love the whole Quake soundtrack. It really fit the grimy, rusty feel of the game. The army base one (Parallel Dimensions) in particular. Great art music to draw to. I wonder what gear he used back then.

Found some more tracks of the album. I am definitely going to buy the deluxe edition of this. Apparently the entire album has been leaked early already and can be streamed directly off itunes for USA listeners.

If you're in the UK, Trent did a 2 hour (with music making much of the runtime though) show about his life, career and influences from pre-Nails to the present on BBC Radio 6. I really enjoyed it.

even if you don't like this you should def check out the live show, they play a lot of older stuff too

Having listened to some of the other tracks, I'm warming to this much more now.

"Find My Way" almost has a gospel feel to it. Reminds me a bit of the baptism scenes in Bioshock:Infinite for some reason.

"Black Noise" could almost fit in the Quake soundtrack.

"All Time Low" is very catchy.

now that the album is out i am surprised there hasn't been any conversation at all on kvr about the fact that they released an audiophile mastered version of the album as well as the standard mastered version.

anyone make a comparison, yet?
