These are in the Steinberg vstpreset format which is all Cubase seems to be able to generate. Please be aware that they will overwrite the factory preset in the same number slot when loaded

I found a free converter on the web to make FXB out of the vstpreset format:

I used it for my uploads to the KVR Download Banks.

Good luck! It prolly won't be boring to very nerdy musos like me. But if you don't want to show the whole process on video, perhaps you can bullet-point some of the process on paper and show us the not-so-boring excerpts as video. I don't think anybody's approach to writing music is going to be boring.

Musicians are all so self-centric that we're more likely to watch a whole 2hr boring video only to play certain parts back saying, "Aha! So that's how you get such-and-such effect with a pad. I might use that for my thing."

I like Mausynth. But i never thought how versatile mausynth is. Great natural sounding guitars and it even can sing.

Yeah, I didn't have much faith in it until twiddling a few knobs with surprisingly powerful effect. It's a real performer if you produce the parts right.

I dunno, I just kept adding instances expecting it to die but it never quite did. Current machine is a quad core AMD Phenom II 3.4 GHz (USB Audio w/Novation X-Station). Somehow it managed to get the project rendered (it was sputtering a tiny bit at the very end).

Because I wanted to add more instances, I started looking at getting a new machine. I have a handful of mostly finished tracks that are in the same boat - maxed out CPU and I'm too proud to freeze (actually I just tweak stuff way too much for this to be a viable/fun option) and I'd really like to finish them.

Not long ago I got a $660 US laptop with an i7 3rd gen 2.2 Ghz for my ex (long story). I had the opportunity to try out the track on it over the weekend and it was sitting happily around 50% CPU. Wow. So, I'm ordering a new 4th gen i7 immediately, which benchmarks have at significantly faster than the 3rd gen model I used. So I should be able to safely double the MauSynth instances to around 92

*SIGH* Seems like such a long time since I submitted my entry for OSC #55. Well, I finally got around to uploading my custom presets to the KVR MauSynth presets page. So many great tracks with amazing MauSynth sounds -- I hope more folks will submit their custom presets for the MauSynth. Good luck to all entrants -- I look forward to the voting phase!

That is impressive for a laptop. Believe it or not, I just found out that a database development application malfunction was eating up all my harddrive (100MB per second) space with log files while I was making the song last night... that's why it was extra slow for me!!!

Now the problem for me is Latency - perhaps a part of my plugin chain. The project is still stuttering a bit - but it's much snappier. I can handle around 90+ (I'll check if it can go higher) instances of Mau alone (Phenom II T1090).
