I suspect mine knows, but she hasn't confronted me yet, at least not like when she sees a keyboard or rack gear piece.soulata wrote:.......In my case, buying VSTs is a much cheaper option (and the missus doesn't know)...

Why so many limitations ? None were placed on you when you posted your example. Is that the only way freeware can compete with Sampletank is by limiting ST from it's full potential ? I'll do you one better..I'll send you some Sampletank Combis that surpass the examples you posted. Just let me know what version of ST you own and what libraries......kodebode2 wrote: Please prove it and publish a similar audio example using Sampletank 2 only (no expansion packs please), of a multipatch or combo if you prefer this term, based on no more than three single patches from ST2.
That's not my quote........soulata wrote:BBFG# wrote:Oh man, I couldn't afford thatTeksonik wrote:So no, I haven't had time enough to grow impatient, but I've been married three times and I've learned to take promises with no expectations of them actually happening.

Miroslav sounds great IMO. It might not be as good as some more modern options, but it won't break the bank and doesn't use up a whole damn drive. We all have different needs.BERFAB wrote:A coment on Miroslav Philharmonik:
I don't know if this was pointed out earlier, but the Miroslav collection was originally a meticulously sampled monophonic set that sold for more than $3,000.00, just for the raw samples.
While it is true that recording techniques and sampling libraries in particular have benefited greatly from the vast improvement in technology over the years, Philharmonik still has its place. The fact that it can now be purchased (with up to date whiz-bang effects and processing power) for pennies on the dollar is a boon to musicians.
Now if I can only get it to run natively in x64...
