You are interested in "music production" and recording. It's basically the same for hardcore gabba or opera - it's just that the content changes depending on style.

This is a good starting point, the Tweakheadz site has pretty much everything you need to know from the basics to the advanced:

:hihi:

Do you have a musical background? If not you're in for literally years of uphill struggle learning many, many, many things.

If you're cool with that then half the battle is over.

What computer gear do you already have and what money do you have to spend?

Pretty funny so far , get you a copy or a back issue of Computer Music magazine , maybe you can get 2 issues a new one and an old one that has on the front of it " How to make House music ". I know you might think we are all being funny here but advice about the Computer music magazines is dead serious , they also come with a DVD that has a bunch of free magware software so youll have everything to get started . Have fun and stay away from KVR unless you want to spend more money , not make music , and post funny cat pictures . :hihi:

:dog: WHERE were all you to give me such good advice - STAY AWAY FROM MUSIC - when I started (in the 60's)? :hihi:

So, Turtlehang, heed their words well. You have been warned about this. Making music is the worst form of drug. :hihi: There is no end to spending.

But seriously, you have come to the right place and have been given good starting points. So it should be less confusing now (yeah, right - the FUN IS just starting).

Welcome to the forum and good luck. My contribution to you? Make good music - if not good then just make music!

Happy Musiking!

Lol, that was funny. I have a poor musical background. Just some little piano classes. I'll practice piano, buy a small midi keyboard, and look at the pages you guys told me to. Maybe or more than maybe buy those mags on amazon and get started. Thanks for the advice, and the warnings, lol those made me laugh but i know some of you say that in a kind of serious way. Thank you guys, Good luck. Peace.
