That's idling tho. In use it's a tad better than it was, but not amazing.BDeep wrote:Then they really did improve the Mac version a lot didn't they? I'll have to re-evaluate it again when I get home, thanks.sqigls wrote:I open Spire x32 in Live 9 or Cubase 6.5 and my CPU use is 0%. 0%-1% if the GUI is open. I run OSX 10.8.4 and use RME Fireface. i7 2.7 GHz.
For example the patch "LD Introduce" (using a 1 bar sequence of 5 notes) is reading 20% usage in Live 9, whatever that means? 1 core? 8 cores i don't know?

Yes, and Spire is dangerously addictive.soundpalace wrote:It's amazing how quickly this synth has become my go-to synth. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
They need to add a WARNING about how great, and addictive this synth is, which can lead to sleepless nights
I have not had some decent sleep since I began programming it, It's an AMAZING Synth.

Live 9 performance meter is very misleading anyway, has been discussed many times on Ableton forums. Only way really to judge performance or enhancements is to pick a patch and then test it on the same DAW, computer and system. That probably can only be done individually.sqigls wrote:That's idling tho. Just tested this synth. Guys, this is pretty CPU hog. You guys should focus on Code Optimazation, make it lighter about CPU usage...

As much as I like this synth, please fix your windows installer as it does whatever it wants. This installer sucks cock in hell.
edit: Sorry, this wasn't very constructive.
But
1) The installer doesn't remember where previous versions where installed.
2) It insists on installing the 32bit version to "Program Files (x86)".
